This coming Sunday, the nation stands “Stronger Together / Tous Ensemble” as a unity of broadcasters and a galaxy of homegrown notables stands together apart for a charitable event designed to replenish food and supply chain services at Canada’s overtaxed foodbanksand unify our nation in a time of crisis and distress.


Conceived and produced in a unique collaboration between Insight Productions, Bell Media Studios, and CBC/Radio-Canada, the commercial-free Sunday, April 26 broadcast unites two dozen streaming platforms and hundreds of local and national radio and TV  brands for the one-hour, 7:30 pm NT presentation featuring 30-plus Canadian notables that includes Margaret Atwood, Celine Dion, Michael Bublé, Buffy Sainte-Marie, and Jason Priestley.

Others confirmed (so far) for the We Stand Together extravaganza are Alessia Cara, Arkells, Barenaked Ladies, Bianca Andreescu, Bryan Adams, Chris Hadfield, Connor McDavid, David Suzuki, Eric McCormack, Hayley Wickenheiser, Howie Mandel, Jann Arden, Marie-Mai,  Penny Oleksiak, Rick Hansen, Rick Mercer, Russell Peters, Sarah McLachlan, Shania Twain, Sofia Reyes, Tessa Virtue, Will Arnett, and William Prince.

The pan-Canadian broadcast is to be carried across multiple platforms including radio and TV operated by Bell Media, CBC/Radio Canada, Corus Entertainment, Rogers Sports & Media, and Quebec’s V Network.

The goal of this pandemic spectacle is to generate $150M to replenish the depleted resources that Food Banks Canada’s network is coping with as a result of the covid crisis.

Drake's lawyers say the halftime show aimed to "assassinate the character of another artist," but UMG calls the updated case the latest "absurd" move by the superstar.

Drake has filed an updated version of his defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” claiming the rival’s Super Bowl halftime show was intended to “assassinate the character of another artist.”

In an amended complaint filed late Wednesday, Drake’s attorneys say the Super Bowl show, watched by 133 million people and “million of children”, “revitalized the public’s attention” to lyrics calling Drake a “certified pedophile” – a diss that the Canadian superstar claims is false and defamatory.
