Toronto Is Named Host City For 2026 Red Bull BC One World Breakdancing Final
The world's most prestigious one-on-one breaking competition will be hosted by Toronto for the first time in Nov. 2026. The news was announced during this week's 2025 final in Tokyo.

Recognised as an important pillar of hip-hop culture and music, breaking (breakdancing) has a large international following. That will be intently focused on Toronto in 2026, when, for the first time, the city hosts the world’s biggest and most prestigious one-on-one breaking competition, the Red Bull BC One World Final.
This announcement was made on Nov. 10 in Tokyo at the historic Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Arena. During a night of break battles, hip-hop icon Redman of the Wu-Tang Clan and Toronto’s own Hall of Fame DJ and producer Skratch Bastid took to the Red Bull BC One World Final stage in front of the sold-out crowd of more than 7,700 fans to reveal Toronto as the host city.

Shot in Toronto, a one-minute trailer featuring Canadian Olympic gold medallist Phil Wizard, Skratch Bastid on the decks, Kaytranada’s music and cameos from Raptors and Leafs talent showcased the big news for the arena crowd.
The 23rd edition of the Red Bull BC One World Final will take place on Nov. 29, 2026, at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, formerly known as the legendary Maple Leaf Gardens.
The venue will be transformed from a hockey arena into the largest international breaking stage, where the world’s best b-boys and b-girls will pit their elite skills against each other to strive for the coveted Red Bull BC One World Championship title.
Livestreamed to a global audience of fans, the finale will feature a line-up of 16 b-boys and 16 b-girls and is traditionally hosted and DJ’d by renowned names from the hip-hop and breaking scene. The Final is preceded by more than 67 qualifying events hosted across 27 countries. Red Bull BC One Camp will take place in the days leading up to the World Final competition, bringing breaking legends and rising stars from all over the world together for several days of workshops, panels, battles and more.

Toronto will welcome hundreds of top-tier dancers from around the world and more than 25 different countries to an event that merges the worlds of hip-hop, dance, culture and sport. Most recently, the event was held in Tokyo (2025), Rio de Janeiro (2024), Paris (2023), New York (2022) and Gdańsk (2021).
