Warner Music Canada and ADA, the distribution and artist services initiative of WMC, have secured a global distribution deal for a gold-certified homegrown artist.

Today (April 23), the label announced the signing of Canadian country singer Zach McPhee. It coincides with the release of his latest single, “The Way I Know You” — out tomorrow.

Hailing from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, McPhee has established himself as an emerging voice in Canadian country music — joining the likes of fellow B.C.-native Cameron Whitcomb and Ontario’s Josh Ross.

After learning about music and singing through speech therapy in childhood, McPhee fostered his affinity for storytelling through song. In 2023, his debut EP Feels Country to Me was released to much acclaim. The following year, its deluxe edition introduced “Who Knew” and “Smoke,” both of which became breakout country radio moments for the singer — the latter song peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Canada Country Airplay chart and earned him a Gold certification.

That same year, he won SiriusXM’s Top of the Country and signed with RLive — the management company backed by Republic Live, the founders of Boots & Hearts. Now with over 32 million streams, McPhee continues to build momentum as he inks a global distribution partnership.

“The Way I Know You Now” blends the singer’s classic heartfelt storytelling with a contemporary sound.

“Lyrically and sonically, it reflects the most important connection in my life, and I’m incredibly grateful to the writers for letting us bring it to life,” McPhee shares of the track, which was written by Payton Smith, Jonathan Hutcherson and Brad Rempel, with production by Garrett Ward and Dan Botch.

"Zach is a compelling talent whose authentic songwriting and impressive momentum have already made an impact on the Canadian country landscape,” says Eric Wong, president of Warner Music Canada. “We are proud to partner with Zach and the RLive team to build on this success and provide the global distribution and support needed to reach the next level in his career."

Kate Howse, artist manager at RLive, shares her excitement to kick off their collaboration with the major Canadian label: “As we work to elevate Zach’s exciting and developing career, we are thrilled to be partnering with Warner Music Canada for next steps. In Warner, we have found a team truly aligned with our vision and goals.”

McPhee joins ADA's roster, which includes rock band Nickelband, Ottawa singer-songwriter Jamie Fine, Toronto R&B artist TOBi, Montreal singer and producer Geoffroy and more.

This spring and summer, McPhee is set to hit the road, performing at various music festivals across Canada, including the inaugural Boots and Hearts West in Edmonton.
