Amie Therrien is stepping down as executive director of Music Managers Forum (MMF) Canada.

She will serve her last day on Oct. 30 after seven years in her role at the organization dedicated to representing music managers and self-managed musicians across Canada.

In 2025, the organization supported 100 music managers and self-managed artists through its mentorship and export programs, with over 70% from systemically excluded groups. During her tenure as the company's first-ever executive director, Therrien led a period of growth that saw increased programming and the launch of the MMF Canada member portal and online resource library.

Therrien was a 2025 honouree for Billboard Canada Women In Music, which recognizes the talented women in all sectors of music driving the business forward. Therrien also served as operations director at MMF Canada and was previously the Toronto-based artist development and management company Balsam Pier Music.

"MMF’s role is building community and ensuring the music management sector is connected and has what it needs to thrive. It has been an honour to serve you — to support you through your challenges and to celebrate your wins," Therrien says about her time at MMF Canada. "I am deeply proud of what our team has built and I look forward to following along as this community continues to grow stronger!”

Most recently, Therrien and the MMF Canada made their first-ever trip to Australia to form part of the Canadian delegate at the BIGSOUND live music conference and showcase, where Canada was this year's guest country. The organization also launched a first-of-its-kind survey this year with the goal of providing an "in-depth data-backed picture" regarding Canadian music managers, their work, the obstacles they face and the tools required to build a sustainable career.

MMF also partnered with Billboard Canada, celebrating MMF Canada's Honour Roll recipients at Billboard Canada Managers to Watch. This year, Peter Dreimanis and Leah Fay Goldstein of July Talk presented their managers Shauna de Cartier and Helen Brittonwith the MMF Honour Roll in recognition of their label Six Shooter Records' 25th anniversary, while Superconnected's Matt Maw was received the Trailblazer award, which recognizes a manager carving out new paths. In 2025, the same honours went to Robbie Lackritz and Rhyna Thompson, respectively.

"Under Amie's leadership, MMF Canada transformed into a strong, active, and globally connected organization," says Jill Snell, MMF Canada's board chair. "While we will miss her daily guidance, she leaves behind a resilient staff and a strong strategic foundation, ensuring MMF Canada is well-positioned for its next chapter of impact."

"MMF has significantly contributed to my own professional growth as a manager," Roller says. "Stepping into this role, I aim to build on the strong foundation Amie has left, to support our board and staff in this transition, and ensure our members continue to receive the advocacy, education, and community they rely on. I am deeply grateful to Amie for her leadership and generosity, and for everything she’s built for Canadian managers."
