We're back with our calendar of new Canadian albums, and there are some notable artists delivering new work during the holiday slowdown. Those include acclaimed singer-songwriters Jesse Mac Cormack and Sam Drysdale, adventurous alt rock-pop artist Kandle, veteran Montreal punk rock outfit No Real Hero and multiple Juno nominee Alex Bird (with an all-original Christmas album).
Prolific rock auteur Jordon Zadorozny (aka Blinker The Star) also makes a return with a new album, Occult Classic, his 13th full-length as Blinker the Star. Check it out on Bandcamp here. In a career now spanning over 30 years, Zadorozny has collaborated with such artists as Lindsey Buckingham and Hole.

Amongst those recently announcing upcoming album dates is Toronto indie rock songsmith Odd Marshall, who serves up his debut album, Sand & Glue, on Dec. 4. It was produced by Don Kerr (Ron Sexsmith, Bahamas) and recorded with such noted players as Mike O'Brien (Zeus, Dan Mangan) and Jason Haberman (Mangan, Tim Baker). Here is an advance single.
Platinum-selling and Grammy-winning pop star Alessia Cara will present her fans with a gift on Valentine's Day via the release of a keenly-awaited new album, Love & Hyperbole, her fourth full-length. The fact that she was recently invited to promote it on such major American TV shows as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Good Morning America augurs well for its success, given that it has been over three years since her last album. Here's one of its cuts performed for Kimmel.
