The music industry continues to ride the wave of Angine de Poitrine.
The fast-rising Quebec math rock duo — comprised of "brothers" Khn de Poitrine and Klek de Poitrine — have inked an exclusive publishing deal with Montreal-based independent music publisher Third Side Music.
Third Side Music will represent the band’s catalogue worldwide and work alongside the brothers and their management, Spectacles Bonzaï. It's a fitting collaboration for the company, says Jeff Waye, Third Side Music’s co-founder and COO, which started in Montreal.
“We’re so excited to be part of the Angine de Poitrine team and get to work with the band and the Spectacles Bonzaï crew," Waye tells Billboard Canada. "As a company that has head offices in Quebec, it’s a natural fit to continue to help shine an international light on the amazing music that comes out of this region.

He continues: "Angine de Poitrine have really perfected the combination of incredible musicianship and incredible concept, and in this business, it always just hits a bit more satisfying when you can bring the weird to the masses."
While the de Poitrine brothers have kept their identities anonymous, they added their own comments on their newly inked publishing deal.
“Tqa grrrge pept qrrr Quglozra’zra’ druqqpu” du grrrge,” Khn and Klek say, translated from that made-up language into English, that means “Three sides is the perfect amount of sides.”
The deal signing comes a handful of months after the polka-dot-clad alien duo soared in popularity, credited to their viral live KEXP session. Currently sitting at 14 million views, it has catalyzed the group’s success.
Their recent album, Vol. II — a follow-up for 2024's Vol. I — debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart. It includes some of their breakout tracks, like “Fabinek” and “Mata Zyklek,” both of which are up over 350% according to Spotify. Adding to their major streaming milestones, their global streams recently surged over 340%.

Angine de Poitrine have been co-signed by some of today’s biggest artists, including Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters. The duo is on tour in Europe and North America all summer, including an opening slot for Jack White next month, at Toronto’s RBC Amphitheatre. It’s the same night they’ll play one of three sold-out headline shows at Mod Club.
In a matter of months, the duo has sold out venues worldwide within minutes, and the momentum is not showing any signs of slowing.
To meet the physical demand of their latest releases, the band has secured worldwide distribution agreements with ATO (U.S.), Republic of Music (global, excluding North America), F>A>B (Canada, excluding Quebec) and Spectacles Bonzaï (Quebec), for the global physical release of their two albums next month — all without signing to a record label.
“It all happened very quick,” shared Steven Himmelfarb, vice president of The Feldman Agency — one of the country’s biggest artist booking agencies. “I don't think anyone was anticipating it to get so crazy so soon.”
“They have a year ahead of them that is gonna be ridiculously tiring and hopefully rewarding, and we need to see some of this play out before moving on to next steps, which is currently a blank slate.”
