Dallas Smith Will Go on a 51-Date Tour Across Canada — Referencing Donald Trump's '51st State' Comments
The British Columbia-born country artist's first-ever acoustic tour is skipping the U.S. and doubling down on his home country — from coast to coast.

Dallas Smith’s upcoming Canadian concert tour is booked for 51 dates across the country — and that’s no coincidence.
A not-so-subtle knock at President Donald Trump’s threats of making Canada the 51st state (of which rocker Rod Stewart had choice words), the country star and frontman of rock band Default said he’s skipping the U.S. and doubling down on homeland pride with his first-ever acoustic tour, Dallas Smith & His Band (Unplugged).
“Instead of having people come to the bigger cities to come see me, we’re going to go to everyone else,” he shared with news anchors on this morning’s edition of Breakfast Television.

25 years into his music career, Smith — who currently sits at No. 7 on the Canada Country Airplay chart with "How Do You Miss Me," featuring Alexandra Kay — said this tour offers the opportunity to explore the “nooks and crannies” of Canada. Despite the tour’s billing, the singer-songwriter promises the shows will be “a lot of energy and a lot of fun.”
Smith and his band will hit places they’ve never played, starting in Fort St. John, B.C., on October 3 and continuing to less-travelled communities such as Kitimat, B.C., Enoch, M.B. and Lindsay, Ont.
“When we’re doing festivals and bigger shows, that’s kind of my comfort zone,” he said. “But with this tour, I really felt it necessary for me to get up close and personal, present these songs and tell the stories behind the songs [and] have the time to do that.”
The Dallas Smith & His Band (Unplugged) tour makes its way through nine provinces cross-country, before reaching its final stop in Belleville, Ont., on December 14.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. EST.
