Drake and Usher are yet to officially collaborate, but that might be changing soon. While there have long been rumors of a team-up, a mutual respect has always remained between the pair of music titans.

The R&B legend previewed a remix of Drizzy and Loe Shimmy’s “I’m Spent” during an IG Live studio session on Monday night (Nov. 2).

Usher sprinkles in his signature croon to the woozy R&B cut. “All I was tryna do was spazz out on this remix/ Got so many hits I damn near almost forget/ That’s why I’m doing something new/ It’s gon’ be some s–t on there that you can f–k to/ It’s gonna be some s–t on there to make love to too,” he sings.

It’s unclear if the remix will ever see the light of day with an official release or land on Usher’s next album. His last project arrived with COMING HOME ahead of his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in February 2024. The LP earned a Grammy nomination for best R&B album and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

“I’m Spent” served as a standout from Drake’s HABIBTI album in May, which reached No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 34) and marked Shimmy’s first top 40 hit.

Back in 2014, Drake brought Usher out at OVO Fest and promised a collaboration in the works. However, the rumored collab titled “Slow Motion” never landed on either of the artists’ projects and leaked in 2020. Usher also made an appearance at the Atlanta show of Drizzy and Future’s Summer Sixteen Tour.

Usher is still on the road with Chris Brown for the R&B Tour, which resumes on Thursday (Nov. 5) with the first of five shows in Atlanta, before heading to L.A.’s SoFi Stadium, New Orleans and Houston the rest of November.

According to Billboard Boxscore, the R&B Tour was the highest-grossing and best-selling tour of September, grossing $77.4 million and sold 423,000 tickets across 10 shows throughout the month. Usher and C. Breezy became the first co-headlining acts to share the No. 1 spot on the Top Tours chart.
