EsDeeKid is returning to Canada.
This fall, the buzzy U.K. rapper will be making his way back to the country after playing two shows in Montreal and Toronto earlier this year — his first-ever shows in the country.
On the Council House Rat Tour, the underground act kicks off his 48-date global trek on Sept. 12 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He’ll perform a handful of shows across the U.S., before heading to Canada for two dates.
On Sept. 21, he’ll play Montreal, performing at MTELUS, before playing at Rebel in Toronto the following night. As he steps on Canadian soil for the second time this year, he’ll be playing to significantly larger venues. Both venues hold between 2,200 and 3,800 people, an upgrade from the 600-capacity spaces he performed at in January.
Then he’ll head stateside again, continuing through North America, before going across the pond to play Europe and the U.K., in November and December. The rapper’s final two shows will be in his hometown of Liverpool on Dec. 10 and 11 at Blackstone Street Warehouse. For the entire global run, he’ll be joined by collaborator and fellow rapper Rico Ace.
As EsDeeKid embarks on these new tour dates, it continues to build on the momentum that the anonymous rapper has been building. Towards the end of last year, he experienced a surge on the Billboard Canada charts, some of which was credited to fan theories that the rapper — who performs with a ski mask — was actor Timothée Chalamet in disguise.
The pair debunked the rumour when Chalamet hopped on a remix of EsDeeKid’s charting hit “4 Raws,” which racked up millions of views in only a couple of hours.
While it's only July, the year has proven to be a breakthrough for the rising star. In January, he scored his first-ever No. 1 on any Billboard ranking, topping the Emerging Artists chart — a metric that blends an artist’s weekly streams, radio airplay, album sales and paid song downloads — mainly driven by two of his Billboard Canadian Hot 100 hits: “4 Raws” and “Phantom.”
EsDeeKid’s success follows in the footsteps of fellow underground U.K. acts like Fakemink and Rico Ace, both of which he has collaborated with on the charting track "LV Sandals." Further rooting himself in a buzzy scene, the rapper’s distorted, bass-heavy beats and unconventional song structures have awarded him a massive audience.
To secure tickets, an artist presale will be held on July 30 at 10 am local time. It’s followed by general on-sale on July 31 at 10 am local time.
