Drake and Kevin Durant are back with another ad for KD’s new Nike sneakers, with the “Purple Candies” colorway launching on Wednesday (June 17).

The 6 God continues to play a hilarious yes man who continues to gas up Durant at every turn. In the latest spot, Drake is inside a box delivered to KD’s living room that deonates, confetti filling the room as Drizzy pops out with a pair of the KD 19 “Purple Candies.”

“Candy man, candy man, the baddest shoes in all the land,” Drake says in the clip. “The new colorway, the purps, this is what they call keeping it, P. You should change your name to Pevin Purant.”

The OVO rapper then takes a playful shot at Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, who catches a stray. “Best colorway I’ve ever seen in my entire life. ‘Hey Ant-Man, can you drop your purple shoes?’ said four kids in Minnesota,” he quipped. “Like nobody wants to see those, they want the KDs.”

Durant is clearly a bit annoyed at his friend’s over-the-top enthusiasm, but appreciates the support. “Dog, you wild. These are fire though,” KD tells Drake in the video.

Cameo’s 1986 hit “Candy” — which reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 — plays throughout the outro with a graphic that reads “…Everyone Needs a Yes Man.”

Drake posted the clip to his Instagram on Tuesday (June 16). “Feeling like Diplo the way I’m Major Glazer,” he shrewdly captioned the ad’s post.

Durant has been loyal to Drake since the early stages of their careers, and they’ve become close friends. Drizzy gave the future Hall of Famer a shout-out on MAID OF HONOUR‘s “Q&A.” “Me and KD got way too much cheese like the — yeah, yeah/ I got some questions for you and I need answers for ’em,” he raps.

It’s been just over a month since Drake released his trifecta of albums on May 15. The 6 God made history with ICEMAN, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR debuting in the top three slots of the Billboard 200 simultaneously.
