Niall Horan gave Toronto dinner and a show on Sunday night (June 14).

The Irish singer of One Direction fame released his fourth solo album Dinner Party last week, and true to the album's title, he hosted an exclusive dinner party for a select group of fans at the Powder Room in Toronto's Yorkville neighbourhood. Fans dined on a three-course meal of salad, steak and dessert while chatting and writing down questions for Horan to answer during an eventual Q&A.

Horan sat down for a Q&A with Ontario TikToker Nick Palmai, where he shared his love for the Canadian fans and crowds during his past tours. He sold out two nights at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena as part of The Show: Live on Tour in 2024, and his upcoming 2027 tour is set to return there, along with stops in Vancouver and Montreal.

"This country, this city, it's just always been so good and that's why I'm glad I'm doing more of Canada this time. It's a big country, and over the years I'm going to try to get out to most of the cities. You're my kind of people," the singer told the crowd, receiving a warm applause.

When asked who his dream guests at a dinner party would be, he put a spin on the question and chose to only name Canadian musicians. On the roster were his "good friend" Michael Bublé, as well as Bryan Adams, who he praised as one of the greatest songwriters ever and someone he's always wanted to meet. He threw Shawn Mendes, Alanis Morissette and Avril Lavigne into the mix and joked, "Alright, we know how successful your artists are," after fans continued to name other Canadian hitmakers.

Horan then delivered a stripped back performance of songs from the new album, singing with just his guitar in hand and backup from his musical director Jake Curran. He performed the title track "Dinner Party," which he revealed earlier was inspired by the night he met his girlfriend, and the song that helped the entire album take shape. He followed up with "Monochromatic," which he revealed he felt will be a fan favourite on tour, a fact that was made evident by fans joining in to sing the chorus. The tone of his guitar was much quieter during the final song "Better Man," which emphasized the intimate setting as fans listened attentively to Horan as his voice carried throughout the room.
