Kalsey Kulyk Invited By Lainey Wilson to Perform at Nasvhille's Grand Ole Opry

Kalsey Kulyk is heading to Music City.

The Canadian country hitmaker has been invited to perform at Nashville's legendary Grand Ole Opry broadcast show, receiving the honour from American country music star Lainey Wilson while performing at the CCMAs Legends Showcase in Saskatoon last on September 17 alongside renowned Canadian singer-songwriter Patricia Conroy.

Conroy introduced the announcement by telling Kulyk she had a secret to reveal to her, before leaving the floor to a surprise video message by Wilson in which she praises Kulyk's talents as a singer and recalls their first collaboration together, "Dreamcatcher," which was released on Wilson's self-titled EP back in 2018.

"From us writing 'Dreamcatcher' together, to watching you chase down some crazy dreams of your own, I have gotten to see just how talented and how special you are," she says. "You have one of the most beautiful voices that I have ever heard to this day, and I really feel like there are certain moments in town, in Nashville, in this business, that you never forget. And I have a feeling that you've got one of those coming your way."

Wilson then asked Kulyk if she was available to make her Grand Ole Opry debut on Nov. 21, causing a burst of cheers to take over the room as Kulyk danced around, overcome with excitement. Wilson added that she "cannot think of anyone more deserving."

The milestone comes amid a busy year for Kulyk, who made her Billboard Canada Airplay chart debut earlier this year with her track "Till I Get To Heaven," a track that also added to her streak of hits on the Billboard Canada Country chart, where she has charted every year since 2023. Her 2026 track "Cut Him Loose" also entered the chart this year, and she's already following up on that success with a new single titled "Your Side of the Bar," out Oct. 2, which will continue building momentum towards her Grand Ole Opry debut.

The Grand Ole Opry has cemented itself as a legendary stage that welcomes top-of-the-line stars while also breaking in new ones, having recently paying homage to the late country music legend Dolly Parton with a star-studded tribute and welcoming Post Malone for his debut last year. Billboard Canada was there as Canadian rising star Owen Riegling made his Grand Ole Opry debut this year.

Kulyk also performed at the CCMA Awards this weekend. Her history with the ceremony dates back to almost a decade ago when she won their Discovery Artist program in 2017, a co-sign that forecasted her now-established success.

After the Canadian star heads over to Music City, Wilson will return the favour by playing in her home country, opening for Harry Styles' four shows at Toronto's Rogers Stadium in May 2027 during the final run of his Together, Together tour.
