Megan Moroney to Headline Country Thunder Saskatchewan 2027
Now in its 44th year, the annual fest in Craven has a reputation for attracting American country superstars.

As we're settling into fall, Country Thunder Saskatchewan is already looking ahead to next summer.
The long-lived annual festival in Craven, Saskatchewan, has announced that American country star Megan Moroney is confirmed to perform at Country Thunder Saskatchewan on July 11, the first of the headliners to be named.
"Megan Moroney is one of the most exciting artists in country music right now and the energy she brings to a stage is exactly what Country Thunder Saskatchewan is all about," says Troy Vollhoffer, founder and ceo of Country Thunder.
"This one is for the fans who have been coming to Craven year after year, some for decades, and who have made this festival what it is. Bringing a powerhouse talent like Megan to our longest-running festival is our way of saying thank you and we couldn't be happier to welcome her to our stages this summer."
A multi-platinum-selling artist, Moroney is certainly floating on Cloud 9 these days. Her third studio album, Cloud 9 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 earlier this year and it features such blockbuster radio hits as the platinum-certified No. 1 smash “6 Months Later.” Ahead of her being officially named a fest headliner, Country Thunder Saskatchewan dropped Cloud 9-coded clues, blanketed billboards in pink and turned its website and social media channels the signature colour of Moroney's album.
Expect more big names to be added to the lineup in the coming months. Now in its 44th year, Country Thunder Saskatchewan has earned a reputation for bringing the genre's biggest stars to Saskatchewan, including the likes of Keith Urban, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Riley Green, Chris Stapleton,, Bailey Zimmerman, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, rockers Creed and more.
The festival also offers activities like Buckin' Thunder Pro Bull Riding plus the debut of Rolling Thunder, a travelling museum celebrating more than four decades of Country Thunder Saskatchewan history.
Country Thunder makes the announcement during a turbulent time. Sister festival Country Thunder Alberta in Calgary ran into trouble this summer, and cancelled just two days before it was set to run with headliners The Red Clay Strays, Kane Brown and Lainey Wilson. As reported in Billboard Canada, organizers cited issues with the city of Calgary for the late cancellation.
“Active construction, loss of critical infrastructure and a restrictive noise bylaw made safe and enjoyable execution of the festival impossible,” the post organizers stated in a social media post.
There are five festivals under the Country Thunder banner., with others in Florence, Arizona, Clearwater and Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, joining those in Calgary and Craven.
