Billboard Canada Announces 2025 Women in Music Honourees

September 26, 2025, Toronto, ON — Global music authority Billboard has announced the honourees for the 2025 Billboard Canada Women in Music Awards, taking place on Wednesday, October 1 at Rebel in Toronto. Hosted by award-winning artist and TV personality Keshia Chanté, the star-studded evening will honour the most influential women and gender-diverse leaders in Canadian music with inspiring performances, awards and surprise appearances.

This year’s Women of the Year Award, presented by L’Oréal Paris, goes to The Beaches, the Toronto-born band whose meteoric rise has redefined Canadian rock on a global stage. With sold-out tours, hit singles dominating Canadian radio, and multiple music awards to their name, The Beaches are the first group in Billboard Canada history to receive this prestigious honour.

Other major awards include:

  • Lights – Visionary Award presented by SiriusXM Canada

  • Charlotte Day Wilson – Innovator Award presented by Interac

  • Cœur de pirate – Trailblazer Award presented by Restylane Skinboosters

  • WondaGurl – Producer of the Year presented by FACTOR Canada

  • Julie Adam – Executive of the Year

  • Noeline Hoffman – Breakthrough Award

  • Julia Wolf – Global Rising Star

  • Meg Symsyk – Champion Award

The ceremony will showcase live performances powered by SiriusXM, featuring Aqyila, Ruby Waters, Alexandra Stréliski and Cœur de pirate, plus special surprise appearances from additional performers and presenters, including some of the biggest names in music worldwide.

The singer-actress is the cover star of Billboard Brasil's 21st edition.

In 2011, a teenager from Gunpo, a city 30 km from Seoul, crossed the South Korean capital to audition at YG Entertainment. The 16-year-old faced a line of hundreds of candidates, performed for the judges, and left the building without knowing the result of the audition that would change her life forever. Shortly after, Jisoo joined the agency’s exclusive trainee program. She went through countless hours of rehearsals and music, singing and dance classes over five years before debuting in BLACKPINK alongside three other girls — and the rest is history with a capital H. The group was one of the driving forces behind K-pop’s surge in global popularity over the following decade.
