It's a busy week for new albums from Canadian artists.
Nickelback has a new live album, and there are releases from rising reggae/hip-hop star King Cruff, blues veteran Kenny Blues Boss Wayne, shoegaze outfit Sunnsetter, vintage folk singer-songwriter Stefan Gnyś, Toronto folk songsmith His His, new and musically adventurous trio Tryptique, Albertan roots-rocker Ryland Moranz and Vancouver singer-songwriter Kylie V with her second album.
But the biggest release of the week sees the return of pop heartthrob Shawn Mendes after a significant absence from the spotlight. His new full-length, Shawn, is already making a splash on the Billboard charts, as you can read about here.

The annual spate of holiday album releases has begun, with Tim Baker's Full Rainbow of Light a notable entry on that list. The former Hey Rosetta! frontman has a cross-country tour with a full band (All Hands) and Villages in support set for Nov. 28 to Dec. 1. You can find the tour dates here.
There's a prominent reissue this week, with the 10th anniversary vinyl only edition of the self-titled debut by Alvvays, one of the most acclaimed Canadian indie rock bands of the past decade. The new version features a rare vinyl-only bonus track, "Underneath Us.:
The biggest album announcement of the week, meanwhile, belongs to Tate McRae. The Canadian pop breakout's new album, So Close To What, is due out Feb. 21, 2025.
