Tate McRae Earns Her Second No. 1 Hit in Canada With ‘Housewife'
Three years after McRae’s first-ever No. 1 single, “Greedy,” the Calgary-born pop star has returned to the top of the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 with her first single of the year.

Tate McRae has reached the top in her home country for the second time.
The Calgary-born pop singer arrives atop the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 with “Housewife,” dated Oct. 31.
McRae flips the traditional narrative on “Housewife,” turning the term into a pop anthem about “a woman who can’t be contained,” as she says, while exploring themes of love, fame and independence. “I just wanna make a lot of money / be my own housewife,” she sings, oozing with confidence.
On the track, McRae fantasizes about a life well lived — full of yachts, “loads of cash” and “prеcious cars,” all of which she sings of and shows off in the song’s video, which the singer told Jimmy Fallon was filmed in the South of France.

It’s McRae’s second No. 1 single in Canada, following 2023’s “Greedy,” which spent two weeks at the top. Last year, the pop hitmaker came close to reaching No. 1 with her divisive Morgan Wallen collaboration, “What I Want,” instead peaking at No. 2 on the Canadian Hot 100. That song did reach No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, which remains her only No. 1 south of the border.
“Housewife” is McRae’s first music release since her chart-topping 2025 album, So Close to What. That album marked her first-ever No. 1 album on both sides of the border and experienced a chart resurgence in Canada later in the year, following the deluxe edition release.
Ella Langley's Record-Chasing "Choosin' Texas" Drops to No. 3
Tate McRae's No. 1 is an even bigger feat on the Canadian Hot 100 because it beats some major competition.
"Housewife" dethrones Ella Langley’s “Choosin' Texas,” which has spent 23 weeks at No. 1 on the chart. That's the second longest No. 1 of all time on the chart, trailing Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," which holds the record at 25 weeks.

Langley's country hit has fallen from No. 1 and regained the top spot multiple times, so it still has a shot to beat the record.
The song has actually fallen to No. 3 this week, while Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” has climbed from the No. 4 spot to No. 2 after spending one week at the top earlier this month.
Zach Bryan Secures His Second No. 1 Album of the Year
At the beginning of 2026, Zach Bryan’s With Heaven On Top debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, marking his third chart-topping project in the country. Nine months later, has his fourth with his new EP, Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs.
The album coincides with the release of Bryan’s memoir of the same name, chronicling his journey from childhood to becoming one of today’s biggest acts. To promote the project, Bryan filmed a two-hour conversation with actor Matthew McConaughey. “If you don’t tell your own story, a thousand people will tell it for you, usually incorrectly,” Bryan said.
All eight tracks on Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs have landed on the Canadian Hot 100, led by the Lana Del Rey-featuring “Lies” at No. 3.
It’s followed by “Lodi When” (No. 11), “Robot Killed The Working Man” (No. 17), “Plainsman,” feat. Turnpike Troubadours (No. 24), “Backwards” (No. 27), “Dog Days” (No. 29), “You’ll Get By” (No. 31) and is rounded out by “Is The Blue Tangled In You?” at No. 39.

Sophie Powers has her first Canadian Hot 100 hit.
The Toronto-born singer is making a big name for herself in the K-pop scene, which has propelled her onto the charts in her home country.
At No. 92, "FIRESTARTER" marks Powers' debut with K/DA, a virtual pop group from the video game League of Legends. Powers takes over the vocal role of Evelynn from Madison Beer, joining South Korean starsMIYEON & SOYEON of i-dle and British singer Mimi Webb for “FIRESTARTER,” K/DA's first music since 2020.

Powers played a standout set at NXNE in June, and it's clear her appeal is spreading beyond borders.
The Weeknd Re-Enters the Top 5 with 'The Highlights'
Since the release of The Weeknd’s second greatest hits album, The Highlights, in 2021, the Canadian R&B star’s album has often maintained a spot in the top 10 on the Canadian Albums chart after previously peaking at No. 1.
This week, it re-enters at No. 4 in its 289th week on the chart. Spanning nine years of his discography, the album features some of his biggest hits, including “Can’t Feel My Face,” “Save Your Tears” and “Wicked Games.”
