Albertan singer/songwriter Tenille Townes was the big winner on last night's televised 2019 CCMA Awards show at Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome, taking home awards for all four categories in which she was nominated.
Dallas Smith, the show's co-host (with Billy Ray Cyrus), won as Entertainer of the Year and MNP Male Artist of the Year, while The Reklaws and The Washboard Union were also double victors.
Those winning an award apiece included Brett Kissel, Jade Eagleson, Donovan Woods, and Lindsay Ell.
The 2019 Canadian Country Music Association Awards were handed out at three separate events in Calgary over the weekend, culminating in the televised show last night (Sept. 8).
The first function was the 2019 CCMA Industry Brunch & Awards on Friday, presented by Nielsen Music, which recognized winners in 21 categories. On Saturday night, 13 more trophies were handed out at the Telus Convention Centre, at the CCMA Gala Dinner & Awards presented by SOCAN.
