Here is this week's Nielsen Market Watch report which features Canadian music stats for the current week and YTD with comparisons to last year. This chart is published every Tuesday. The abbreviation "TEA" is a term used to describe the sale of music downloads or singles. A track equivalent album is equal to 10 tracks, or 10 songs.
Ed Sheeran
The British pop artist’s +-=÷x (Tour Collection) also re-emerges on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart at No. 9 following his collab with Indian artists including Karan Aujla and Jonita.
Ed Sheeran is rising on the Canadian charts.
The British pop star is back on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, as his track “Sapphire” re-enters at No. 89 on the chart dated Oct. 25.
It follows the new release of Sheeran’s Play (The Remixes) EP, a twist on his September 2025 project Play, which peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart. The new EP features Indian artists, including Canadians Karan Aujla on “Symmetry” and Jonita on “Heaven” — both of whom were on Billboard Canada’s Punjabi Wave cover in 2023.
The four-track EP includes a rendition of “Sapphire,” with Indian singer and composer Arijit Singh, first released back in July. Sheeran's original solo version of the song first charted on the Canadian Hot 100 on the week of June 21, 2025, and peaking at No. 30 over 17 weeks on the chart.
It's an effervescent dance song as Sheeran mixes Punjabi percussion elements of Indian music with his signature catchy pop melodies shimmering just like the blue diamond for which the song is named. Adding flair to the new recording are vocals and sitar by Singh, who also appears alongside the four-time Grammy winner in the song’s music video. It was filmed across various locations in India during Sheeran’s tour through the country earlier this year.
“The final jigsaw piece for me was getting Arijit on the record,” he shared in a statement before Play’s release.
But Canada’s love for Sheeran doesn’t stop there. On the Canadian Hot 100, Sheeran’s “Camera” (from the original Play album) rises from No. 59 to No. 43, and his 2024 greatest hits compilation album, +-=÷x (Tour Collection), re-enters the Canadian Albums chart at No. 9, in its highest charting position.
Electro-pop DJ duo Loud Luxury have a new debut on the Canadian Hot 100 this week.
The Natalie Jane-featuring “UH OH!” debuts at No. 97. Over the Canadian duo's retro-futuristic production, the song livens up listeners as the pulsating beats and vibrant energy take centre stage as the American pop singer describes how it feels to fall into trouble with someone you love.
Of the song, Loud Luxury share that working with Jane was three years in the making. “We adore her and truly believed her voice on a dance song would be special,” they say in a statement. “The result is something both nostalgic but forward thinking. ‘UH OH!’ taps into a recession pop feel imagined in 2025 and is the perfect way to kick off the next era of Loud Luxury.”
Jane echoed a similar sentiment, noting that collaboration was aligned with her career next steps. “I’ve been eager to dive into the electronic music space for a while, and getting to do it alongside Loud Luxury makes it all the more exciting,” she said. “‘UH OH!’ was a song I originally wrote with them in mind, so seeing them bring their own spin to it has been incredible.”
Earlier this year, the duo signed to Republic Records and have continued to consistently release music and tour their discography. They played a major set at Toronto’s Veld Music Festival, where Billboard Canada caught up with them for a Billboard Backstage interview.
Released at the beginning of September, “UH OH!” has been a Billboard Canada Airplay chart success, sitting at No. 18 on Canada CHR/Top 40 and entering Hot AC at No. 37 last week. It joins their track “R U Down?” at No. 40 on CHR/Top 40.
Many homegrown artists are moving up the chart this week. Justin Bieber’s “Daisies” rises 15-14, and “Yukon” climbs 56-47. Morgan Wallen’s Tate McRae-featuring “What I Want” moves up to No. 23, while McRae’s solo “Just Keep Watching” moves up 11 spots to No. 36.
Emerging pop girls, including Sofia Camara’s debut Canadian Hot 100 song “Girls Like You,” rises 71-58 and Alicia Moffet’s pop hit “Lay Your Light” climbs 87-72.
Drake & Central Cee’s previous top 10 hits “Which One” climbs 80-74, and “What Did I Miss?” moves up 92-86. Karan Aujla’s “For A Reason” rises 91-82, and The Weeknd & Anitta’s “Sao Paulo” re-enters the charts at No. 92.
Country stars Josh Ross’ Canadian Airplay hit “Hate How You Look” climbs 65-48, while Cameron Whitcomb’s “Options” moves up 12 spots to No. 66. “Backfire” from Nate Haller and Tenille Townes is at No. 84.
At the top of the charts, Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” earns a second week in the top spot, following her top 12 chart domination on last week’s Canadian Hot 100. Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl opening track dethroned HUNTR/X’s KPop Demon Hunters song “Golden,” which rises from No. 13 behind all of the Showgirl songs back up to No. 2. Former Canadian Hot 100 No. 1 artist, Alex Warren, rises back up to No. 4 with “Ordinary.”
On Canadian albums, Swift maintains the top spot with The Life of a Showgirl while the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack sits at No. 2, followed by Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem at No. 3. One spot down is fellow showgirl and Swift collaborator, Sabrina Carpenter, with Man’s Best Friend.
