New & Upcoming Canadian Albums: Cleopatrick Release 'Fake Moon,' Mother Mother Announce 'Nostalgia'

Here is the full calendar of new and upcoming Canadian albums.

There are a number of notable Canadian albums out this week.

SOCAN Award-winning post-rock duo cleopatrick are back with the new album, Fake Moon. The group's sophomore album, it was recorded in Brooklyn with acclaimed producer Philip Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker, Tomberlin). They're launching the new album with a nine-date U.K. tour starting next week.


Montreal indie rocker Jonathan Personne releases Nouveau Monde via Bonsound today. This is the fourth album by the solo project of Jonathan Robert, singer and guitarist of highly-rated Montreal band Corridor.

Also out with new releases are prolific Edmonton pop-punk veterans Real Sickies (the fave CanPunk band of Green Day's Billie Joe), with Under a Plastic Bag, up and coming Toronto skate-punks Shiv and The Carvers, with Tell Me You Love Me Again, and Montreal-based Latin fusion collective El Balcón, with El Errante.

There are also a number of Canadian artists announcing upcoming release dates.

Montreal rock band Population II have announced Maintenant Jamais (they're now showcasing at SXSW),whilemodern rock hitmakers Mother Mother, have their 10th album, Nostalgia, coming June 6. The Vancouver band have been enjoying a late-career resurgence since their music took off on TikTok over the last few years.

Other artists who've announced new projects include soulful Juno-nominated singer-songwriter Tanika Charles (with Reasons To Stay), Kitchener-Waterloo-based folk-rock singer-songwriter Henry Taylor, with Sweet Thunder, and art-pop contender SamWoy, serving up his sophomore album Even Sad Boys Like to Have Fun.

The 50,000-capacity venue will open its doors on June 29, kicking off with a performance from K-pop stars Stray Kids, while System of a Down and Hozier will also take the stage in its inaugural season.

Toronto's new Rogers Stadium has set its opening date. The venue will open its doors June 29, 2025.

The venture from Live Nation and Northcrest Developments, announced last fall, will serve as a key touring stop for some of the world's biggest acts.
