Men I Trust
In Toronto, singer-songwriter Sarah Kang brings her jazz-infused R&B hits to The Mod Club, while roots band Skydiggers celebrates 30 years of tunes at Danforth Music Hall.
This week, indie rock band Men I Trust play back-to-back nights in Montreal. The band released two acclaimed twin LPs this year, Equus Asinus and Equus Caballus, and are closing out the year by playing two shows in their home province.
Plus, New York City-based singer-songwriter Sarah Kang performs her unique blend of jazz, R&B and pop tunes in Toronto, while rising house and techno producer Jackie Hollander brings the beats to Vancouver. Then, Toronto roots band Skydiggers celebrates three decades of music in their hometown.
Men I Trust, MTELUS, Montreal — December 18-19
In 2025, DIY indie pop outfit Men I Trust proved that great things come in pairs — they’re rounding out the year back to their hometown of Montreal. After four years, the homegrown trio released Equus Asinus in March and Equus Caballus, two months later, each named after the scientific names for a common donkey and a domestic horse, respectively. The former made this year's Polaris Music Prize long list.
The trio — Emma Proulx, Jessy Caron and Dragos Chiriac — maintained their roots while working on the LPs. Both were mixed and produced at Laboratoire audionumérique de recherche et de création (LARC) at Laval University, supported by the music faculty’s Serge Samson.
Earlier this year, the trio brought their dual projects to a string of shows across the country, including their home province, where they played gigs at Montreal’s Place des Festivals and Québec City’s Festival d'été de Québec. Now, they’re returning for two headline shows, where they’ll perform their two new albums, along with fan favourites like "Show Me How," "Numb" and "Lauren."
While they remain hometown heroes, the trio’s enchanting sound, which blends dream pop and indie elements have resonated with a global audience. Two years ago, they earned their debut on multiple Billboard charts thanks to the live album with Khruangbin, Live at RBC Echo Beach — landing at No. 46 on Top Current Album Sales and No. 73 on Top Album Sales with 2,000 copies sold. The fittingly Canadian project sparked the group’s arrival at No. 43 on the Emerging Artists chart, too.
Between delicate sound textures and hypnotic rhythms, carried by Proulx's airy vocals, the trio is set to transport their audience into a universe that is both intimate and vibrant.

Sarah Kang, The Mod Club, Toronto — December 18
Emerging singer-songwriter Sarah Kang is performing at an intimate show at The Mod Club. Earlier this year, Kang released her third album, before & after, inspired by the birth of her first child. The project seamlessly blends jazz, R&B and pop with thoughtful lyricism and cozy vocals that elevate her timeless songwriting. With over 800,000 monthly Spotify streams, Kang is captivating listeners with a sound that slots her in with fellow breakout stars like Laufey and Luna Li.

Jackie Hollander, Fortune Sound Club, Vancouver — December 19
Making waves with her euphoric melodies and driving beats, house and techno producer Jackie Hollander is bringing the good vibes to the west coast. Inspired by the San Francisco native’s early exposure to trance music in Europe and Bay Area rave culture as a teen, Hollander, now 25, brings both emotion and intensity to her sound that will captivate audiences and keep listeners hypotnized. Now is the time to see the rising EDM star, who is set to take the stage at Igloofest Québec next March.

Skydiggers, The Danforth Music Hall, Toronto — December 20
As 2025 wraps up, Toronto roots rockers Skydiggers have a lot to celebrate as they perform a hometown show that will commemorate a triple-whammy: their annual year-end Christmas show, the 30th anniversary of 1995’s Road Radio and this year's Dreams & Second Chances. To celebrate the latter’s release, the group performed at The Concert Hall, but is returning to the city, calling it “a chance to gather with our friends to raise our voices together in song; to celebrate the year that was and to look forward to the year ahead,” on social media.
