With "I Knew It, I Knew You," new song for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, Swift has earned her 14th No. 1, the same number Drake recently reached with “Janice STFU."
Taylor Swift and Drake are tied for the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 — again.
The pop star scores her 14th chart-topping single in Canada with “I Knew It, I Knew You” on this week’s Canadian Hot 100, dated June 20. In Swift's home country, the track debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, too.
Swift’s latest No. 1 dethrones Drake’s “Janice STFU,” which initially broke the Toronto rapper out of a tie with Swift and Justin Bieber for the most No. 1 songs on the chart after Iceman’s May release. Last week, it became Drizzy’s longest-leading No. 1 on the Canadian Hot 100 this decade, after spending three weeks at the top. This week, it moves to No. 2.
Released earlier this month, “I Knew It, I Knew You” is from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, marking the first time an artist has been invited to create an original song for the film franchise’s soundtrack aside from singer Randy Newman.
“I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie,” she shared on Instagram of her contribution to the film’s fifth installment.
She later noted that making the track with frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff “felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time.” For Swift, “I Knew It, I Knew You” finds the pop superstar tapping into her original genre of country, while writing with beloved cowgirl character Jessie in mind.

Still, Drake maintains his No. 1 spot on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart as Iceman spends a month at the top. Further down, Michael Jackson’s Bad arrives at No. 22, debuting on the chart 39 years after its 1987 release.
This week, another homegrown act is debuting on the Canadian Hot 100: Josh Ross arrives at No. 89 with “Scared of Getting Sober.”
It’s a vulnerable moment for the Ontario-born artist, as he details his experience of heartbreak and the fear of moving through life without alcohol — admitting he’s not as strong as he thought: “Yeah, I'm scared of getting sober / 'cause sober me's gonna start thinking 'bout you,” singing wistfully over a twangy guitar.
Of the country rock ballad, Ross tells Billboard: “I just feel like it’s a raw, emotional song that definitely will connect with certain people.”
He explains the social norms of partying and drinking in the music industry. “I was starting to get to a point where, if I was being honest with myself, there’s times where it’s difficult. You’re really, really tired, and you’re trying to balance fun with work. And then, also just the relationship side of it — you watch relationships sometimes kind of fizzle away.”
Fellow Canadian country act, Cameron Whitcomb, hits a new peak as "Kingdom of Fear" hits No. 30, along with Charlotte Cardin's "The Way We Touch," which rises 50-42. Justin Bieber's "Speed Demon" moves up five spots to No. 70, and Ontario's Pablo Preston jumps 87-79 with "Cause I Do."
Elsewhere, rising hyperpop artist Slayyyter scores her first entry on the Canadian Hot 100 at No. 97 with “Dance…,” following a viral TikTok trend. Similarly, one spot down, electronic duo Empire of the Sun’s 2010 track, “We Are the People,” re-enters at No. 98.
