Oct. 1 marked the 30th anniversary of the release of Matchbox Twenty’s breakthrough album You or Someone Like You. The album, which included such hits as “Real World,” “3AM,” “Push” and “Back 2 Good,” helped propel the Rob Thomas-fronted band to the top of the charts and into one of the biggest post-grunge rock bands of the era.

Now, the group will spend the next several months celebrating its 30th birthday. The festivities started Oct. 12 with a sold-out show at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles followed by an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
