AC/DC’s Toronto Concert Cancelled Following Rogers Stadium Storm Damage
The concert was cancelled after several seating sections of the Downsview Park collapsed following a "100-year storm" in Toronto last week.

Rogers Stadium's second season has come to an early close.
This evening (Sept. 9), the venue announced via Instagram that AC/DC's show scheduled for Sept. 16 has been cancelled. The news comes after the 50,000-capacity venue suffered significant structural damage following a "100-year storm" that struck Toronto last week, causing several seating sections on the venue's north side to collapse.
"Cancelling a concert is never a decision we want to make, and we know how disappointing this will be for all of us who have been looking forward to seeing AC/DC close out our summer season," says Wayne Zronik, Live Nation Canada's president of business operations. "Safety has to come first. The right decision is to take the time to remove and rebuild the affected parts of the stadium to ensure it is ready to welcome fans next summer."

Following the storm on Sept. 2, the city ordered the venue to immediately begin repairs, with Live Nation Canada receiving a seven-page order that detailed the conditions the stadium would have to meet in order to resume operations. The entertainment giant filed a report to the city yesterday (Sept. 8) detailing the damage and needed repairs, and was set to file a follow-up later this week (Sept. 11) regarding the status of the work, although the show was prematurely cancelled.
"The safety of fans, artists, crew and venue staff remains our highest priority. It was made to find potential solutions for the show to move forward in Toronto, but unfortunately, we were unable to find an alternative venue that could accommodate everyone," the stadium wrote on Instagram, specifying that all fans who purchased tickets will be fully and automatically reimbursed through Ticketmaster.
In its statement, Rogers Stadium adds that the storm was an "exceptionally severe and significant weather event," and that engineers have since inspected the site and confirmed that the affected parts of the stadium will be removed and rebuilt ahead of the next concert season.

AC/DC was set to cap off the stadium's second year of concerts with its 20th and final show of the season, playing after other major names like BTS, Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars, who kicked off the season with five nights of his own at the stadium. This year saw almost double the number of shows produced in the venue's inaugural year, with 19 individual concerts in 2026 compared to 12 in 2025.
"Our focus is on completing this work carefully, safely and responsibly, so Rogers Stadium is ready to welcome fans back with confidence next season," Zronik says. "We’ve had an incredible summer at Rogers Stadium, and while this isn’t how we wanted the season to end, safety for fans, artists and employees will always come before any individual event."
The metal legends' Toronto show was among the four final stops on the group's PWR/UP tour, preceded by the group's scheduled concert in Montreal this Saturday (Sept. 12) and followed by its final Canadian date at Winnipeg's Princess Auto Stadium on Sept. 20.
