Celine Dion's comeback will go on.
This week, the global icon announced ten new dates for her return residency at La Défense Arena in Paris "due to overwhelming demand," extending her upcoming run of shows in the French capital into 2027. The Quebec singer will now play for a crowd of 45,000 fans on May 8, 12, 14, 15, 19, 21, 22, 26, 28 and 29, bringing her residency to a total of 26 shows. The singer had initially announced ten shows in Sept. and Oct. 2026, before adding six more dates due to high demand.
Dion's Paris residency marks her triumphant return to the stage for the first time since her surprise appearance at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, where she gave a powerful rendition of Edith Piaf's "Hymne à l'amour," live from the Eiffel Tower. That marked her first time performing in years following her diagnosis and struggle with stiff person syndrome, which was revealed in 2022 and candidly covered in her 2024 documentary I Am: Celine Dion.

This new residency and its subsequent extension mark a new start for Dion, who feels healthier and ready to return to performing for her fans more than ever. “I want to let you know that I’m doing great, managing my health, feeling good. I’m singing again, even doing a little dancing,” she told fans in her original residency announcement. "I’m feeling good. I’m strong. I’m feeling excited — obviously a little nervous — but most of all, I’m grateful to all of you.”
The icon's musical return is already in motion, as she released "Dansons" earlier this year, her first original song in seven years. The emotional ballad entered the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 at No. 68, marking her first appearance on the chart since 2019.

Dion's life also is set to return onscreen, as it was announced last week (May 29) that a fictional TV show based on her upbringing titled Growing Up Dion is officially in development. Her brother, Jacques Dion, explained to Deadline that the show will revolve around the family's life and dynamic during Dion's childhood and early career, and also honour the life and career of their late mother, Thérèse Dion, who passed away in 2020.
"This series represents something deeply meaningful for our family, as it captures the spirit, struggles, and love that defined our upbringing. We are proud to finally share this story with the world in a way that feels true to who we are," he explained.
