Canadian executive Wassim “Sal” Slaiby is making a big change moving into the new year.
Known as The Weeknd's longtime manager, Slaiby has built the artist management company SALXCO into a powerhouse. The company home to such stars as The Weeknd, NAV, Ty Dolla $ign, French Montana, Elyanna, Metro Boomin and more has announced major changes in its leadership structure as it heads into 2025.
Lindsay Unwin, a 15-year veteran of the company, has been elevated to CEO, while Manny Dion and Ryan Ramsey have been appointed co-presidents. Slaiby, who launched SALXCO in 2011, remains founder.
“Taking the helm as CEO of SALXCO is a testament to what’s possible when you immerse yourself in this industry from day one," says Unwin, who joined the Los Angeles-based company soon after its launch, in a statement. "Our company thrives because we don’t just follow culture — we help shape it through our incredible clients and their visions.”

“After 15 exceptional years Lindsay is perfectly poised to lead our daily operations," says Slaiby. "Along with Manny and Ryan, her leadership will be instrumental as we embark on our next chapter.”
Dian adds, “With a deep respect for the company’s legacy and a clear vision for the future, I’m excited to build on what has been created and lead our team and artists toward new heights in the music industry.” Ramsey says “I’m excited to be taking this next step with SALXCO and help guide the company into the future of this ever-evolving industry.”
With these internal promotions, the Lebanese-born Slaiby will shift his focus to “high-level projects and new business growth."
Slaiby first started working with The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) in 2011, and 2025 promises to be a banner year for the Canadian global superstar. The Weeknd releases a new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, on Jan. 24, and an accompanying film, via Lionsgate and Live Nation Entertainment, is scheduled for later in the year.
