Miley's 'Bass Persuades' Is Coming Early to Record Stores Across Canada

Miley is bringing the bass to Canada.
The singer is gearing up to release her tenth studio album Bass Persuades on Sept. 18 and will celebrate the album by taking over local record stores across Canada on Sept. 17.
Warner Music Canada posted a list of participating stores that will host fans on the eve of the album's release, including Toronto's Sonic Boom and Pop Music, Montreal's Le Noise, Halifax's Taz Records, Vancouver's Neptoon Records and Ottawa's Odds and Sods.
The album's snappy rollout fully kicked off on Sept. 1 when Miley took over billboards in Sankofa Square in Toronto with the surprise announcement of the album's title, artwork and release date. She also dropped her last name from her Instagram handle and from her name in press releases, with the mononymous twist becoming a defining factor of this new chapter.

“Music takes hold of us," she says of the album. "We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.”
The album's title track quickly followed as the album's lead single and was released on Sept. 3. The synth-backed pop track features a vintage, electronic feel with a hooky pop chorus, and it kicks off the album's ten tracks. The LP also concludes with a 'Remixx' of the same song, out today (Sept. 14), which leans into an even faster electronic dance style and features American rock band Model/Actriz.
The hype for the record continues to grow, with fans' excitement already resulting in a pair of sold-out shows at the storied Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, scheduled for Oct. 16 and 18. The exclusive dates will be her first major public shows since 2022's Attention tour, which supported her 2020 album Plastic Hearts.

Bass Persuades is Miley's first release under a new major label deal with Atlantic Records, which is owned by Warner Music Group. It follows 2025's Something Beautiful, which reached the top 20 of the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, and Miley's massively commercial success Endless Summer Vacation (2023), which reached No. 2 in Canada and spawned the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart-topping single "Flowers."
Miley's new LP is the latest record to get this special fan-focused treatment, contributing to a growing trend of local record stores hosting album release events for major albums. Back in July, Ariana Grande hosted listening parties at Canadian vinyl shops for her No. 1 album Petal, whose release date coincided with her three Eternal Sunshine tour shows in Montreal. The official soundtrack for Heated Rivalry received similar treatment to commemorate its physical release, which propelled the album into the top 10 of the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, making it the first TV show soundtrack to achieve the feat this year.
