Katrine Sansregret Debuts on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 After Popular Stint on Quebec's 'Star Académie' TV Show
Sansreget may not have won the 2025 season of the Quebec talent competition, but her original song "Minable" — which she performed during the semi-finals — is a winner on the chart at No. 79.

After her last Star Académie appearance on April 6, Quebec finalist Katrine Sansregret is making her chart debut.
The 20 year-old singer — who hails from Montreal suburb Longueuil — didn't win the 2025 season of the popular Quebec talent competition. But now she's scoring some wins for her original song "Minable," which she performed during the show's semi-final.
Originally released in 2024, the song has found new listenership thanks to her live performance and arrives at No. 79 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart dated April 12.
It's a heartfelt ballad that shows off Sansregret's vocal prowess, pairing her with a sparse piano accompaniment as she sings about feeling small and sub-par.

In an interview with the Journal de Montréal, Sansregret — who also competed on La Voix Junior in 2017, and holds a diploma in popular music from Collège Lionel-Groulx — says that she's not disappointed by the show's outcome. "It's already my biggest victory," she explains in French.
As this week's Canadian Hot 100 shows, televised singing shows still have a unique ability to vault a singer onto the charts. B.C.'s Cameron Whitcomb, who first broke out on American Idol, has also risen 39-34 with "Quitter."
Drake's "Nokia" hit No. 3 on the U.S. Hot 100 following the release of its popular new video, but it hasn't hit the same heights in his home Canada just yet, moving up 9-8.
At the top of the chart this week, Bruno Mars and ROSÉ extend their reign for a 7th week with "APT." Chappell Roan hits a new chart peak with "Pink Pony Club" moving up 4-2, as does singer and influencer Alex Warren with "Ordinary" moving up 6-3.
"Pink Pony Club" was initially released five years ago, and hit the charts last year following the success of Roan's single "Good Luck Babe!" It got a boost after her performance at the 2025 Grammys this winter and has been climbing on Canadian radio, hitting No. 1 on the CHR/Top 40 chart last week.

Warren is also a relatively new presence on the charts, debuting in July 2024 with folk anthem "Carry You Home." "Ordinary" is his third single on the chart, and has struck a chord with fans as a dedication to his wife Kouvr Annon, with a video starring Annon.
In addition to Katrine Sansregret, Canadian singer Alexander Stewart is also back on the chart this week. His single "His Problem Instead" re-enters for a second week at No. 84.
The Weeknd's "Timeless" is up 31-30 while his "Cry for Me" moves down 38-39. PartyNextDoor and Drake drop 44-47 with "Die Trying" and 73-83 with "Somebody Loves Me."
Tate McRae has four tracks on the chart this week, the highest being "Sports Car" holding steady at No. 11.
Josh Ross' "Leave Me Too" slides 68-70 and bbno$'s "Check," which debuted last week, rises 75-73. Karan Aujla and Ikky's OneRepublic collab "Tell Me" moves down 87-90.
