deadmau5 is spreading his wings.
A global icon of the electronic music scene, the Canadian artist, born Joel Zimmerman, has signed with talent agency Independent Artist Group (IAG) for international representation as of today, Sept. 10.
According to the agency, the deal will expand his businesses across music, film, television, digital content, gaming and technology, with plans to create "new opportunities around the artist’s growing portfolio of intellectual property.''
Throughout his decades-spanning career, deadmau5 has become a masterful musical and technological entrepreneur, expanding into many different areas, described as "an early adopter and innovator" across livestreaming, gaming, immersive experiences and technology. deadmau5 has built an entertainment ecosystem that extends into "content, software, digital media and IP ownership."

One of those properties is the artist's popular web series, Coffee Run, featuring car rides and coffee chats with notable guests including Pharrell Williams, Skrillex, Tommy Lee, Zedd, Dillon Francis and more. The series will relaunch in the coming months, as part of the artist's broader push into creating original digital content.
deadmau5's enterprises include Oberhasli Games, his video game company, Auto/Pilot, his live-performance software platform designed for creative mixing, real-time arrangement, sampling, sequencing and automation. Not to mention, his own influential record label, mau5trap, which includes his frequent collaborator and fellow electronic act, REZZ.
His project with REZZ as REZZMAU5 has become a fruitful endeavor for the two acts, while his work with Kaskade — billed as Kx5 — spawned the major dance hit “Escape,” a track from their 2023 Grammy-nominated album Kx5.
There's no shortage of career accomplishments for deadmau5, including multiple Juno Awards and Grammy nominations, seven critically-acclaimed albums, a double-platinum hit with 2008's “Ghosts ’n’ Stuff" and a reach of more than 15 million followers across his social platforms. He has worked with many notable acts like The Neptunes, Kiesza, Lights, Foster the People, Portugal. The Man and Skylar Grey, among others.

Jim Osborne, chief executive officer, and Kyle Loftus, president of Independent Artist Group, call deadmau5, "a once-in-a-generation creative force who represents exactly where we believe the entertainment business is going — the intersection of music, technology, content and ownership.''
''He has been ahead of the curve for his entire career, from the way he approaches live production and streaming to gaming, software and digital experiences," they continue. "Music will always be the center of what he does, but the opportunity here goes well beyond music."
Meanwhile, deadmau5 explains that ''IAG’s proven track record of creating exciting crossover content creation and ownership opportunities for musical artists" is what attracted him to the agency. "As my business continues to evolve across touring, music, technology and new ventures, I’m excited to partner with a team that understands our goals and objectives and can help us build what’s next," he says.
deadmau5 is no stranger to shaking up his career. In 2025, his entire catalogue was acquired by Create Music Group in a deal valued at $55 million. It includes the master recordings and publishing of more than 4,000 songs, and includes the formation of a joint venture to release future recordings from deadmau5 and mau5trap.

Today's news comes during a steady year for deadmau5. Earlier this year, he released “Science” featuring Stevie Appleton, his first vocal single since “My Heart Has Teeth” featuring Skylar Grey, which appeared on Resident Evil (Soundtrack From The Netflix Series). The track reached Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart and the Billboard Canada CHR/Top 40 Airplay chart. Last month, deadmau5 grabbed attention with his official remix of buzzy Quebec duo Angine de Poitrine’s "Fabienk."
On the personal front, he added another feline to his household after donating $30K to the Humane Society of Oakville, Milton & Halton in Ontario to help rescue 27 felines that require medical care.
