SZA is uplifting Canadian art while shutting down the trolls.
The chart-topping R&B singer flaunted a colourful new balloon dog sculpture on her Instagram today (Oct. 15) and shared the backstory behind it with her audience, explaining that she purchased them to support an artist who was being trolled online. The SOS singer bought two pieces in different sizes, both made by Montreal-based artist Adam Nassih, known under the alias Loonsba.
"[I] purchased this balloon sculpture from an artist being trolled in the comments," she wrote. "A guy was commenting saying this art sucks and if anybody 'actually buys this crap I’ll match it.' Threatening commenters left and right. I happen to catch it and said oh ! Lemme get the most expensive piece u got ! tagged the commenter. The commenter replied with 'heyyy no fair ur rich.' So I bought a smaller piece as well. The commenter also made art. He didn’t get a sale that day. Being a hater gets expensive ain’t it?"

She also tagged Loonsba in her caption and praised his work, adding that she "loved the piece" in her house. He commented on her post, sharing his gratitude and thanking the singer for supporting his art. "It's such a funny story, [I] wish he hadn't deleted his comment, thank you so much for your support and also for trusting me with this," he commented, along with two red heart emojis. "Love you."
Nassih's sculpture for SZA is almost a year in the making. In Dec. 2025, he posted a clip of him covering the statue in resin during the creation process, calling the opportunity to create for her "surreal" and thanking her for being an "artist uplifting others." SZA already called the sculpture gorgeous back then, and she wasted no time uplifting the artist after finally receiving it, posing for a photo op with the art piece inside her home and in her backyard.

Following SZA's post, Loonsba has restocked his sculpture in different colours including red and blue. The multicolour version that SZA owns is also available for purchase, starting $554 CAD for the smallest size and $4,540 for the largest. In 2025, he also designed and hand-delivered an opaque, orange version for Quebec entrepreneur and real estate mogul Lucas Poirier, known for his impressive luxury car collection
