The arrival of the holiday season inevitably means a quiet week for the release of new albums by Canadian artists, but there are some notable exceptions.
Those putting out new work include Menno Versteeg (frontman of indie rock favourites Hollerado), Montreal prog-rock auteur Alex Henry Foster, acclaimed Toronto jazz guitar ace Reg Schwager, Vancouver rockers Movieland, blues guitarist-songwriter Lucas Haneman and saxophonist-composer Nicola Miller.
There's also a recent new album from acclaimed Toronto R&B singer-songwriter Roy Woods, part of Drake's OVO Sound label roster. Rolling Stone is described as his most personal work yet.
