Electronic Music Star REZZ Went Viral on TikTok, But She's Still Driven by Impressing Herself
Between going viral on TikTok, selling out ampitheatres and racking up millions of streams, Canadian producer REZZ has become one of the biggest named in dance music. She sat down for a Billboard Canada Women in Music Spotlight Session to talk about her journey and how she stays excited.

Rezz has made a name for herself on the dancefloor.
The electronic music producer is one of the biggest figures in Canadian dance music, selling out ampitheatres and racking up millions of streams. That's not to mention her massively viral track "Edge," which blew up on TikTok thanks to the Edge Challenge garnering 1.3 million videos on the app, including from K-stars TWICE and Shakira.
Her rise is even more impressive in a genre where women are frequently under-represented on festival lineups and in DJ mixes.
Between collaborating with deadmau5 this summer — they performed a live set at Veld Festival called REZZMAU5 — releasing the goth-themed It's Not a Phase EP and returning to Colorado's Red Rocks for her REZZ ROCKS residency, she sat down for an interview for Billboard Canada Women in Music Spotlight Sessions in partnership with iHeartRadio Canada.

In conversation with radio host Josie Dye, REZZ reflects on what keeps her going at such a high level.
"These days I just care about impressing myself," she revealed. "I find that I'm most fulfilled these days not by external validation particularly," she elaborated, "I get so much more stoked and fulfilled when I'm really really passionate and excited about what I'm doing." When people can feel that passion, she said, then buzz tends to follow from there.
She also chats with Dye about upcoming projects, the excitement of her music reaching more ears, and the concept behind her signature hypnotic glasses — which she wore to the interview, of course.
