Shaboozey's Record-Setting Run Atop the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 Ends as Gracie Abrams Claims No. 1 Spot

Here comes the 1 to the 2. Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" has been knocked out of the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 by Gracie Abrams' new hit "That's So True."
Shaboozey set a record this year, surpassing Lil Nas X's 19 weeks at the top for "Old Town Road" for the longest-leading song at No. 1 on the Canadian Hot 100 at 25 weeks. However, as the year approaches its end, that massive crossover country hit has been supplanted. On the chart dated Nov. 30, 2024, "That's So True" reigns supreme with "Tipsy" moving to No. 2.

Abrams got a big boost to her profile opening for Taylor Swift across her record-setting Eras Tour, and now hits No. 1 in Canada after a string of six concerts at Toronto's Rogers Centre. Her album The Secret of Us also hit No. 1 on the Canadian Albums chart last week (it's at No. 2 this week, bumped off by Linkin Park's new album From Zero, the first with their new lead singer Emily Armstrong).
The rising singer-songwriter actually jumped the gun, telling the Toronto crowd that the song was already No. 1 over the weekend, but now it is official.
“Torontoooooo ❤️💔 I will never ever forget those six shows. You were so loud and so generous and so kind,” Abrams later wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for hanging out with us while we waited for @taylorswift who brought me to tears every single night the past two weekends."
There is a silver lining for Shaboozey. His slow-burning new single, "Good News," released this month, debuts on this week's Canadian Hot 100 at No. 52. "Tipsy" has also tied Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" atop the U.S. Hot 100 this week at 19 weeks.
Shaboozey could still extend his Canadian Hot 100 record. He was briefly knocked from No. 1 this summer by Eminem's "Houdini" and Post Malone & Morgan Wallen's "I Had Some Help" but reclaimed the top spot both times. But for now, the record stands at 25 weeks.
