Geordie Greep was accused of sexual assault ahead of his Vancouver concert on Thursday night (Oct. 8).

Outside the local music venue the Pearl, a concertgoer passed around several flyers featuring the phrase "Geordie Greep A Rapist," alleging that he had sexual assaulted an individual the previous night. "You know what you did this morning Oct 8th. He thinks he can do whatever he wants because he's gone tomorrow. Let Him Know What Vancouver Thinks of Rapists," the paper reads.

One user reported on X that Greep's show began two hours after its scheduled start at 8 pm, and he appeared alone onstage alone without his backing band. The singer began the show by delivering an extensive speech in which he denied the allegations, apologized to the victim for "making a move" that made them uncomfortable and called the situation a "misunderstanding."

"So essentially, what happened last night: me and some of the band went out to some bars, we went out, we met people and it ended up in a situation where, really late at a house party, I got the wrong end of the stick with someone that was there," Greep said in his address. "I made a move and it didn't come off. I really quickly, of course, apologized. It was a complete misunderstanding on my part, and I felt extremely bad and I feel extremely sorry and extremely upset about the whole situation. I would never rape a woman. I'm not a rapist. It's not how that went down."

Given the seriousness of the allegations, the English singer explained the absence of his backing band and offered to refund concertgoers who did not want to stay. One Reddit post showcasing the flyer, which counts more than 1,200 upvotes, described the energy in the venue as "abysmal" and reported that many attendees left the show early. Greep then pledged to donate all of the show's proceeds to a local violence prevention organization and played ten songs

"It is a very strange thing to have happened and a very scary thing, so all of the band, I think, understand that I didn't want to force them to still play a show in the light of that happening. We were unsure what the response would be to all this. And I can only tell you that it's okay if people want refunds. If they want to leave, it's fine," he added. "We are going to donate the proceeds of this show to the Against Violence organization in [British] Columbia. And, basically, I just wanted to be transparent with you about what happened. I'm very, very, very sorry to someone. I made someone uncomfortable without meaning to. It's not a good thing. It's not good."

The suspect's identity, as well as whether or not the police have been informed of the alleged incident, have not yet been confirmed. Greep's tour continues tonight with a show in Boise, Idaho.
