Céline Dion Gives a Surprise Performance of "I'm Alive" at Paris Fashion Week 2026

Céline Dion is fully embracing the spotlight.

The Quebec superstar stole the show during the first night of Paris Fashion Week 2026 yesterday (Sept. 28), making a surprise appearance at the end of the L'Oréal Paris 2026 runway show to perform her 2002 song "I'm Alive." Emerging from darkness at the end of the catwalk, the singer appeared in a sleek black dress to sing a fast-paced, mellow version of her hit song from the foot of the Eiffel Tower as the landmark shone behind her. "Merci beaucoup!," she joyfully told the crowd, before being joined by the show's models for a collective, celebratory finish.

It's a full circle moment for the global star, who previously performed at the same landmark in 2024 during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. She gave a show-stopping rendition of Edith Piaf's "Hymne à L'Amour," her first performance since revealing her battle with stiff performance syndrome and cancelling a handful of Courage World Tour dates in 2022. "I'm Alive" is one of the Charlemagne-born singer's better-known pop songs and appeared on her Billboard Canadian Albums chart-topping LP, A New Day Has Come (2002).

This month, Dion powerfully reclaimed the stage by kicking off her sold-out residency at Paris' Plenitude Arena, playing her first headline shows in six years. She's made all sorts of public appearances in the lead-up to the stint and in between dates, interacting with fans in front of her hotel and even singing with them from atop the hood of a car last week (Sept. 18).

As fans in France rejoice and reconnect with Dion's music live onstage, her fans in Canada have also been celebrating her grand return. Spotify recently shared with Billboard Canada that her catalogue has seen major streaming growth following her first comeback shows, with her average daily streams in Canada increasing by approximately 65%. Her track "Pour que tu m'aimes encore," which she performed barefoot in the streets of Paris last week, has seen a notable rise from No. 7 to No. 3 in terms of daily Canadian streams over the last 12 months.

Her decade-spanning concert setlist, which includes old favourites and recent charting hits like "Dansons," has also led to major streaming boosts in France as fans have been diving back into her catalogue. Songs like "Beauty and the Beast," "On ne change pas" and "The Power of Love – Radio Edit" have all increased by over 400%, with "All By Myself (Live)" seeing the most staggering increase, up by 655%.

Dion's residency at Plenitude Arena resumes tomorrow night (Sept. 30), followed by shows on Oct. 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 14, 16 and 17. She will return for ten extra dates in May 2027.
