Bruno Mars may have just found the perfect way to get Karol G back.

Just days after joking that he needed to “get” the Colombian superstar back from Drake, Mars has recruited Karol G for the new music video for his lovely The Romantic track “Dance With Me,” released Thursday (Oct. 1).

The video opens with Mars strumming an electric guitar all by his lonesome, pleading the lyrics into a pay phone. Karol is on the other line, sulking in bed in a lace outfit. Mars moves on from the telephone booth to where Karol resides, serenading her from below her balcony with a full band behind him. It’s a dreamy, old-fashioned serenade, with Mars singing to Karol as the instruments flourish. Karol makes her way below, jumping into Mars’ arms as fireworks explode in the sky. The duo stares into each other’s eyes as the video comes to a close, ending the night on a wholesome — and, quite literally, a romantic — note.

It’s a fitting visual for “Dance With Me,” which finds Mars leaning into the kind of swooning romance that has become a signature theme within his discography.

And Karol G’s appearance comes at a bit of a funny time in their ongoing musical friendship. On Monday (Sept. 28), Mars reacted to a viral video of Drake dancing with Karol G during the rapper’s surprise appearance at her Houston concert. Posting a photo of himself staring dramatically out of the window of a private jet, Mars jokingly wrote, “I have to get her back! I must get her back! I will get her back!”

Mars and Karol G already have some musical history together, as the pair teamed up on “Still,” an all-English-synth-pop ballad from Karol G’s sixth studio album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto. The collaboration reached No. 41 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200.

They also took “Still” to the stage together for the first time when Mars surprised fans during Karol G’s Aug. 15 concert at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.

For Mars, “Dance With Me” is the closing track on The Romantic, his first solo album in nearly a decade. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while “Dance With Me” opened at No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100.

‘Every Moment Is Massive and Magnificent’: Noah Kahan Reflects on a Monumental Year — And Eyes a Grammys Breakthrough

With his epic The Great Divide, Kahan proved he’s a generational singer-songwriter — and a strong album of the year contender. He’s finally OK with that.

A rooster has interrupted Noah Kahan’s train of thought. “Sorry,” he says, collecting himself as he inhales and glances toward the yard of the early–20th-century craftsman home in Los Angeles’ West Adams neighborhood where we’re sitting.

Kahan is coming down from the 29-date North American leg of his The Great Divide tour that wrapped 48 hours ago — and exhaustion is, understandably, creeping in. He has three weeks off before heading overseas for 28 more dates across Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Europe, but he’s not expecting much of a break when he makes a brief return to his very well-known home state. “It’s going to be an intense time,” he says, “but it’ll be nice to be in Vermont.”
