Angine de Poitrine is sure to be a hot Halloween costume this year, but unlicensed costumes have been pulled from the shelves at one Halloween store.

Costume and party supplies retailer Party Expert has pulled a pair of Halloween costumes from its website featuring the likeness of both members, after listing their polka-dotted jumpsuits and signature masks as individual pieces under the prefix "Polka Dot Attack" last week.

Today (Oct. 16), Le Journal de Montréal reports that the costumes have been removed from shelves in physical stores. Party Expert employees told the local newspaper that the store's parent company reportedly called for the outfits to be pulled from shelves on Wednesday (Oct. 14). The costumes are no longer available on the store's website, and Le Journal also reports that store employees claim the company removed the items from sale following a legal notice. Angine de Poitrine's team declined to comment for this story.

"Polka Dot Attack" was advertised as a pair costume and each sold in two pieces, with Khn and Klek de Poitrine's signature robes being sold for $60 CAD each and their respective headpieces listed at $45 CAD. After making headlines on social media, the costume pieces quickly sold out online, as reported by several outlets.

It makes sense for Angine de Poitrine to be one of this year's popular costume ideas, given their meteoric rise and global breakthrough over the past year. In the past month alone, the group pulled off a Polaris double win by taking home the Polaris Music Prize and the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize, notched 11 nominations for the upcoming ADISQ Gala in Montreal and made their American television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. They've seen no shortage of viral moments either, from their silent acceptance speech at Billboard Canada Power Players 2026, which accumulated over 1.8 million views, to their breakthrough KEXP live performance, which has crossed the 20-million view mark since it was first uploaded in February.

The band is currently on tour in Europe and will return to Canada right after the Halloween mania passes. Angine de Poitrine kick off their latest North American tour leg at History in Toronto on Nov. 5, returning to the city for the first time since making their Toronto debut with three nights at the Mod Club in June.

Though the costumes are no longer being sold online, you can still expect to see some Khns and Kleks out this year. Angine de Poitrine fans are known for making their own outfits inspired by the band.
