Life is a Carnival: Last Waltz '24 Tour Will Take Robbie Robertson Tribute to 18 Cities

Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell of The Heartbreakers will lead a touring celebration of the Canadian artist and The Band, including a big finale in Toronto.

A celebration of Canadian musical icon and The Band guitarist Robbie Robertson will hit the road this fall.

Life Is A Carnival: The Last Waltz Tour '24 will pay tribute to Robertson and The Band, conjuring the spirit of their famed final concert of the same name.


The tour, featuring Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, famed rock producer Don Was, and percussionist Cyril Neville, amongst many others, is set for 18 dates this fall, including a stop at Toronto's Meridian Hall on November 16.

The tour will kick off on October 19, two days after the previously announced Life is a Carnival: A Musical Celebration of Robbie Robertson, a star-studded tribute concert for Robertson in L.A. That event will feature performances from Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Noah Kahan and more, and is executive produced by Martin Scorsese.

Scorsese directed the concert film, The Last Waltz, which documented The Band's final performance.

The L.A. concert and the subsequent tour are both produced by Keith Wortman of Blackbird Presents. Blackbird has put together Last Waltz tours since 2016, dedicated to recapturing the magic of the original concert, with Robertson co-presenting the event in the past.

“It is such an honor that the musical celebration of The Last Waltz and The Band carries on today," Robertson said of the tour in 2022.

Robertson, one of Canada's most acclaimed musicians, was a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Order of Canada. In addition to his work in The Band and as a solo musician, he had a long career as a film composer, collaborating with Scorsese.

Tickets for the Last Waltz '24 Tour go on sale Friday, August 16. Tickets for the L.A. tribute concert are already on sale.
