Honey Jam, a major Canadian talent showcase for emerging female talent, has announced a sweet new cohort for 2024.

The program has been highlighting women musicians since 1995, providing a platform for future stars like Nelly Furtado, Haviah Mighty, Jully Black and LU KALA.

This year's lineup features sixteen talented artists, who come from across the country — spanning Kelowna, B.C. to Charlottetown, PEI. Montreal R&B singer Néhémie, Windsor pop singer Kat Valentine and Saskatoon's sixteen-year-old songwriter Kateryna Grace are just a few of the artists taking part in Honey Jam's mentorship, development and networking program this year.

The 2024 cohort will show off their chops at an August 29 concert at Toronto's TD Music Hall, during an evening dedicated to celebrating women in the music industry, with a guest performance from 2020 cohort member MADLADY.

The event will also include two tribute performances from alumni, honouring two major albums. A group of alumni artists will pay homage to Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter, her 2024 country album that highlights Black contributions to the genre and features a host of Canadian collaborators.

Folk artist Leah Holtom will turn the clock back a little further, paying tribute to Sarah McLachlan's breakthrough album Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, which McLachlan herself has also been celebrating on a 30th anniversary tour this year, as well as McLachlan's upcoming induction into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.

One showcase performer will win $2,500 in sound equipment from Yamaha, and another will receive a free songwriting workshop with Honey Jam alum and 2024 judge Anjulie.

In an industry where women continue to be under-represented on stage, on the charts and behind the scenes, Honey Jam is helping the next generation of Canadian stars build their skills and begin to shine.

Tickets are available now, and find the full cohort below.
