Mac Miller’s 'Cinderella' Surges on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 Following TikTok Popularity
The 2016 Divine Feminine track rises to No. 31 after debuting back in May, becoming his second-highest charting song on the chart.

Mac Miller’s rising chart hit is ten years in the making.
The late Pittsburgh rapper’s “Cinderella” rises to No. 31 on this week’s Billboard Canadian Hot 100, more than a decade after its initial release on his The Divine Feminine album in 2016. The song first hit the chart in May of this year at No. 97 and has consistently risen since then, carried by a wave of popularity on TikTok. It hits its peak this week on the chart dated July 4.
The romantic song, which features R&B hitmaker Ty Dolla $ign, has been used in over 13 million posts on the platform. The top ones have garnered more than 2 million views and 300,000 likes each. Many are centred around the heartfelt lyric, "I yell your name, Cinderella. Never gonna find nobody better, all my life." The track has soundtracked users' own romantic moments as well as fan edits reminiscing on Miller’s romantic relationship with superstar singer Ariana Grande. The musicians dated in 2016 around the album's creation, and the pop singer revealed to People that "Cinderella" was written about her.
"Cinderella" officially becomes Miller's second-highest performing song on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, surpassing his 2013 collaboration "The Way" with Ariana Grande, which peaked at No. 33 in 2013. Miller's debut posthumous single "Good News" remains his highest-charting song, reaching No. 14 in 2020.
The Divine Feminine debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart upon release, becoming Mac Miller's third consecutive album to reach the top 10 on the chart. He holds a unique feat on the chart, as all of his studio albums have debuted within the top 10 in Canada. His posthumous album Balloonerism most recently landed at No. 5 last January.
