Punjabi music is continuing its strong run across the Billboard Canadian charts this week, with Cheema Y and Gur Sidhu’s collaborative album Bermuda Triangle making one of the biggest debuts on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart dated June 6, 2026.

The project debuts at No. 6, marking a major moment for both artists and further reinforcing the growing commercial presence of Punjabi music within Canada’s mainstream charts. Alongside the album debut, Bermuda Triangle all eight of the album's tracks are charting simultaneously on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.

Leading the run is “Jackpot” at No. 49, followed closely by “CEO” at No. 54.

Released last month, Bermuda Triangle combines the Greater Toronto Area-based Cheema Y’s melodic delivery and street-focused lyricism with Gur Sidhu’s bass-heavy production style, which has helped shape several prominent Punjabi songs in recent years. The project quickly gained traction across streaming platforms following its release, particularly among younger listeners across Canada, India and the Punjabi diaspora globally.

The album’s performance highlights how Punjabi projects are increasingly charting as complete bodies of work rather than relying on a single breakout track.

Punjabi music’s presence extends beyond one project this week. Arjan Dhillon and Punjabi-Canadian music veteran Jazzy B also enter the Canadian Hot 100 with “One Call Away” at No. 79, adding another Punjabi-language track to the national chart.

On the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, Dhillon’s Enigma debuts at No. 8, meaning there are two Punjabi albums charting in the top 10.

Elsewhere on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, Drake’s “Janice STFU” holds down the No. 1 position for a second week, followed by Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” at No. 2. Bruno Mars, Tame Impala, Olivia Dean and Olivia Rodrigo are also among the artists currently occupying the Top 20.

The latest chart week further reflects Canada’s growing role as one of the biggest international markets for Punjabi music. What once operated largely within community-specific spaces now regularly competes alongside major global pop, country and hip-hop releases on national charts, with Punjabi artists increasingly becoming recurring fixtures across Canada’s streaming ecosystem.

Toronto City Councillor Wants Live Nation to Pay for ‘Noise Monitoring’ at Rogers Stadium

York Centre’s James Pasternak is filing a motion with Toronto city council calling on the company to find a solution to recent noise complaints. A spokesperson for Live Nation Canada tells Billboard Canada it is committed to full compliance with all requirements and that "none of our shows this summer have exceeded sound levels allowed by the City."

Toronto’s York Centre city councillor James Pasternak is looking to Live Nation to address alleged noise issues at Rogers Stadium.

Although the Downsview Park venue — owned and operated by Live Nation — installed soundproof padding across the 50,000-capacity open-air stadium before its June 2025 opening, residents have claimed they can hear and feel the high volume of sound and music in their homes.
