Angine de Poitrine and Les Louanges have taken the lead as the 2026 ADISQ Gala's first big winners.

The ADISQ Gala’s industry gala (Premier Gala ADISQ) took place last night (Nov. 4), and many Quebec musicians went home with one of the province’s top musical honours. Ahead of the main ceremony at Montreal’s Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier on Sunday (Nov. 8), 46 trophies in the primary and industry categories were handed out, with many of the top honours still up for grabs.

Viral math rock breakthrough Angine de Poitrine and indie pop sensation Les Louanges are currently leading the race with three wins each, plus an additional win in the industry categories.

Angine de Poitrine’s global breakthrough continues, and their new ADISQ wins add to the impressive Polaris Prize double win they pulled off in September. After taking home the Polaris Music Prize and the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize, they have earned two Félix awards for their breakthrough album Vol. II, winning for album of the year - critic’s choice category and rock album of the year. The duo also won for best arrangements, which was credited to Khn and Klek de Poitrine as songwriters, while their engineers Gabriel Gagné Gaudreault and Dany Lemay received the industry honour for best recording, mixing and mastering.

The polka-dotted pair also won a $5,000 cash prize from Cogeco Media after garnering the highest number of fan votes in the “My first nomination”contest, which exclusively features first-time nominees.

After delivering a triumphant performance of his Polaris-nominated album Alouette! at the massive Festival d’été de Québec (FEQ) this summer, Les Louanges took home a Félix award for the record, which was crowned alternative album of the year. His track “Je confirme ma présence” won music video of the year, and he was honoured for best album production under his real name, Vincent Roberge, alongside Montreal instrumentalist-composer Félix Petit, and the album’s cover was named album cover of the year.

Singer-songwriter Lou-Adriane Cassidy swept last year’s gala with a staggering 12 wins, and she has extended her winning streak into 2026. Her recent LP, Triste Animal won best adult contemporary album and picked up two industry trophies for lighting and projection design of the year, and sound design of the year. JF Pauzé of Les Cowboys Fringants has also taken home one of his six potential wins, earning the Félix for best folk album with his Billboard Canadian Albums top 10 album, Les Amours de Seconde Main.

Other winners from this year's gala include Blynk, who took home r&b/soul album of the year for his EP Softboy Actif 2 and earned a high-profile collaboration with Belgian rapper Damso in May, jazz sensation Dominique Fils-Aimé winning jazz album of the year and Alicia Moffet winning show of the year - anglophone.

As this year's top nominees, Angine de Poitrine, Cassidy and Pauzé will compete with each other for many of the top honours at the primary ADISQ Gala this Sunday (Nov. 8), including album of the year - popular success, artist of the year - international recognition, song of the year and many more.

Grimes to Star in the First-Ever AI-Generated Film Coming to Theaters: Watch a Clip

The star voices a character in Gods Don't Give Gifts, but the visuals were fully generated by artificial intelligence.

Grimes has been on the cutting edge of the overlap between artificial intelligence and music, and now, she’s doing the same with the technology and film.

As revealed Thursday (Nov. 5), the alternative singer-songwriter is part of the cast of Gods Don’t Give Gifts, the first AI-generated movie coming to theaters. She lends her voice and physical likeness to her character, Zayinth Alda, described in a release as “a disaffected NiiroCore aristocrat and niece to Caen Halvorith, inventor of the Substrate Migration Protocol.”
