Taylor Swift had a lot of fun toying around with her Toy Story 5 anthem, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” with the singer-songwriter revealing in a new behind-the-scenes clip on Instagram that she wrote, recorded and produced the track with collaborator Jack Antonoff in just eight hours.
“It’s been kind of a hectic day,” she tells the camera in the video posted Thursday (June 18). “At 11 a.m., went to see Toy Story 5, got so inspired. Got the songwriter zoomies. Went home, wrote the end credit song for Toy Story 5.
“It’s 6:57 p.m.,” she continued, cracking up at how much of a whirlwind her day had been. “In two hours, [then-Disney CEO] Bob Iger and Tom from Pixar are coming to hear it. This is one of the most fun days of my life.”
Swift also included an adorable throwback photo of herself and little brother Austin dressed in Western-themed outfits, as well as snaps of her at the Toy Story 5 premiere earlier in June. “TOMORROW WE GET TS5,” she wrote in the caption. “Oh how I love this phenomenal movie. Disney and @pixar’s @toystory 5 is in theaters everywhere tomorrow (!!!!!).”
Featured on Toy Story 5‘s soundtrack, “I Knew It, I Knew You” dropped June 12 and debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100. It marks the 14-time Grammy winner’s 15th career No. 1 on the chart.
“I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie,” Swift wrote on Instagram when she first announced her involvement in the film, which hits theaters Friday (June 19). “I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening.”
