Carly Rae Jepsen’s Double Album ‘Day and Night’ Shines on the Billboard Canadian Albums Chart
The Canadian pop singer’s 24-track project — her first full-length release in three years — arrives at No. 59.

Carly Rae Jepsen is shining in the darkness.
Earlier this month, the Canadian pop act released her first album in three years, a double album, no doubt, titled Day and Night. It arrives on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart at No. 59, dated Oct. 3.
Nearly a decade-and-a-half ago, the Canadian pop artist skyrocketed into the mainstream with her smash hit “Call Me Maybe,” a song that logged four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100. With Day and Night, Jepsen gives fans two dozen potential new hits, as the album spans 24 songs and clocks in at over 100 minutes — her lengthiest project to date.

It’s the follow-up to 2023’s The Loveliest Time, the accompanying project to 2022’s The Loneliest Time, which reached No. 18 on the Canadian Albums chart.
On Day and Night, tracks like "After All," "Versailles" and "On Wires" capture the dream pop, folk-inspired sound of the first 12 tracks, while the club-ready pop hits of the back half are elevated by songs including "Don't Leave Me on the Dance Floor," "Hold Me to the Light" and "Super Sage."
It’s a consistent project that Jepsen said was inspired by 2015’s Emotion, an album that has become a cult classic and her best reviewed work. Following its release, that album reached No. 8 in Canada. “I wanted a cohesive album that felt like it was really building a world. And that’s why day needed to be separated from night, because together I was really confused,” she tells Billboard of Day and Night. “But separated, I felt like I understood what I was making.”
The Canadian Albums chart is led by Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide, which notches a fifth week at No. 1. Ella Langley remains at No. 2 with Dandelion.
On the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, Yeat & Drake’s latest collab “Miss My Dawg” debuts at No. 43, 12 spots higher than its Billboard Hot 100 placement at No. 55. It’s on the tracklist of Yeat's newest album, Cocoon, which arrives at No. 96 on the Canadian Albums chart, thought it was initially previewed during Drake’s FOMO "not so short film" livestream. The track marks the pair’s fourth collaboration, following 2025’s “Dog House,” which additionally featured singer-songwriter Julia Wolf.

“Miss My Dawg” sees the two rappers covering a range of topics, including death, missing a friend, relationships and overcoming addiction. It opens with Drake contemplating his mortality over lush strings, before Yeat jumps in, weaving in and out of tales about a new lover and his newfound road to sobriety: “Fresh out of rehab, I cleaned my act up / She ‘bout to clean me up just like a whistle,” he raps.
Within the top 5, Cameron Whitcomb’s “Kingdom of Fear” holds down the No. 3 spot. Further down, Drake’s record-breaking hit “Janice STFU” claims No. 9.
A couple of tracks have debuted on the Canadian Hot 100, but not on the Hot 100. Following a viral TikTok moment, Imael Angel arrives at No. 73 with “Bad Times,” and Malcom Todd debuts at No. 78 with “Obsessica.” It’s Todd’s second entry on the chart, alongside “Earrings,” which sits at No. 17.

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has notched another milestone in Canada.
The country song is now tied with Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” for the second-longest-leading No. 1 on the Canadian Hot 100 at 21 weeks. If the song stays at No. 1 for another week, it will own No. 2 on its own. The song is currently four weeks behind Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” record, which spent 25 weeks at No. 1.
