Céline Dion’s Music Surges on Spotify in Canada Amidst Paris Residency Comeback Shows
Spotify tells Billboard Canada that her streams have grown over the last two weeks, with hits like “On ne change pas” and “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” seeing major gains in her home country.

Céline Dion's comeback shows might be happening in Paris, but it's reverberating to her home country of Canada.
Earlier this month, Dion kicked off her highly anticipated residency in Paris, her first full-length shows in six years. The 29-song setlist featured decades of Dion’s music, from her biggest hits to her newest single, “Dansons.”
Dion’s return to the stage has been a major moment for her fans outside of Europe, too. Dion's Spotify streams have skyrocketed in her Canada since the residency began too weeks ago, according to the streaming service.
Spotify says Dion’s average daily streams in Canada are up approximately 65%. That is slightly ahead of her 60% global increase since the residency's Sept. 13 start date.

Canadians cities have kept the beloved singer spinning on the streaming platform. As Dion hails from Charlemagne, Quebec, it’s no surprise that multiple Quebec cities account for approximately 30% of Dion’s total Canadian streams, with Montreal generating more than twice as many streams as Toronto.
Spotify points to two of Dion’s biggest streaming gains: “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” has risen from No. 7 across daily Canadian streaming over the past 12 months to No. 3 during Dion’s residency period. Meanwhile, “On ne change pas” has moved into the Canadian Top 10 playlist. That track served as the title track from Dion's French-language greatest hits album, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart.
Though she sings in both English and French, Spotify reports that nearly 25% of the singer's streams in Canada are for French-language tracks.
Following the first two days of Dion’s residency, the streaming platform found that a slew of tracks from her decades-spanning catalogue was experiencing “a massive rediscovery” in France.
Nearly 30 tracks were trending on Spotify — with dizzying increases, including: “All by Myself (Live)” (+655%), “Beauty and the Beast” (+516%), “On ne change pas” (+493%), “The Power of Love – Radio Edit” (+481%), “Imperfections” (+475%), “Tout l'or des hommes” (+460%) and “To Love You More” (+459%).

Across Europe, listeners maintained that upward trajectory with multiple hits from Dion dominating trending Spotify charts in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Switzerland — many of them French-language songs, including “Pour que tu m’aimes encore,” which reached the Top 10 across several non-Francophone markets.
The 1995 hit even impacted listener habits in the U.S., where it became the only track in the daily Top 50 trending songs.
Dion has shown immense love to her fans throughout the residency, dancing and singing atop cars for them outside her Paris hotel. She will continue her residency on Sept. 30, Oct. 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 14, 16 and 17.
Back in 2024, Dion experienced a similar streaming surge on Spotify after she performed Edith Piaf's "L'Hymne à l'amour" during the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics. It marked an emotional and highly anticipated return to the stage amid Dion’s battle with Stiff Person Syndrome.
