Naomi Sharon is getting wistful on the Billboard Canada Airplay charts.
The singer’s latest track, “Was It Ever Love,” arrives at No. 35 on the Contemporary Hit Radio/Top 40 Airplay chart, dated Sept. 5. It’s the second chart the heartfelt song has found itself on, after debuting on Hot AC on the Aug. 29-dated chart. This week, it climbs 31-28.
Blending her Dutch-Caribbean roots with an atmospheric, neo-soul sound, Sharon goes deep on her newest single. It’s a vulnerable moment for the singer, as she dives into the complexities and uncertainties of a past relationship. Sharon’s delicate, airy vocals bring an emotional honesty to the captivating track.

While she isn’t Canadian, Sharon was the first female and international signee on Drake’s OVO Sound back in 2023. It’s a major moment for “Was It Ever Love” to land on the Airplay charts, serving as the latest single from her sophomore album, No Sleep in Paradise, released in June.
Last year, she performed at Montreal’s Osheaga and spoke to Billboard Canada about her then-forthcoming album and how she pushes her artistic boundaries: “I am challenging myself every time I make music and even more so with the people that I work with, that really want the best for me,” she said.
Morgan Griffiths heads to the “Boondocks” at No. 41, while Hailey Benedict has a “Party Without You” at No. 43. Vancouver country group The Washboard Union arrives at No. 46 with “Whisky Wings,” while Meghan Patrick’s heartfelt tune “Your Daddy’s Smile” comes in two spots down at No. 48.
Meanwhile, two Francophone artists have landed on the Country chart, including Gabriel Fredette with “Le Bon Choix” at No. 58 and Les Cowboys Fringants alum JF Pauzé debuts at No. 59 with “Puisqu'Il Faut.”

Over on the rock Airplay charts, Three Days Grace holds down the Mainstream Rock top spot for a second week with“Don't Wanna Go Home Tonight.” Their latest No. 1 hit has hit Modern Rock, debuting at No. 39. Time will tell if the track goes to No. 1 there, too, a spot currently occupied by Cage the Elephant’s “Beaches In Tennessee.”
Three Days Grace is in good company on Mainstream Rock — they’re joined by this week’s sole debut: “Winnebago” by Vancouver’s Theory Of A Deadman at No. 32.
While Tame Impala & JENNIE’s “Dracula” holds down the top spot on Hot AC, it rises to No. 2 on AC, potentially threatening the chart-topping reign of Taylor Swift’s Toy Story 5 hit, “I Knew It, I Knew You.” Still, it holds down the No. 1 spot on All-Format, as Stella Lefty’s “Boston” climbs to No. 2. Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drop Dead” maintains its position at No. 1 on CHR/Top 40.
