The late Punjabi-Canadian artist will appear as a hologram on Oct. 8 at Scotiabank Arena, part of a reported Signed To God World Tour, "a groundbreaking tribute that blends technology and emotion."
Sidhu Moose Wala is set to return to the stage — as a hologram.
The late Punjabi-Canadian star’s hologram will make its first stop in Canada, at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Oct. 8. It comes just over four years after the singer and rapper died.
Titled the Signed To God World Tour, the shows are being marketed as Sidhu Moose Wala’s "first-ever hologram concert experience." According to the artist’s website, fans globally will feel the artist’s spirit, “not as a memory, but as reality.” Each show is set to feature “3D holographic projections synced with his original vocals, cinematic visuals and stage effects.”
“This first-ever hologram tour is a groundbreaking tribute that blends technology and emotion,” the website’s statement reads.
Dates in other countries are set to be announced in the coming weeks according to the website, including the U.S., U.K. India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates.
“If they remember one name, let it be mine,” reads the caption of the Toronto show announcement on Instagram, which is managed and operated by Moose Wala’s family. Popular Punjabi artists including AP Dhillon, Gurinder Gill, Navaan Sandhu, Steel Banglez, A.R. Paisley and Sunny Malton have all commented positively on the post.

This isn’t the first time a hologram has been used in a concert performance. Most notably, Tupac was holographically resurrected nearly 17 years after his death to perform with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre at Coachella in 2012, while Michael Jackson was beamed into the Billboard Music Awards two years later, five years after his 2009 death.
While holographic performers have been used internationally before, reports claim that Moose Wala’s hologram concert is a historic first for a Punjabi artist — further demonstrating his posthumous impact.
Despite his untimely passing, Moose Wala has continued to make waves on the charts. Last winter, his viral track “Barota” with The Kidd and Sweetaj Brar debuted at No. 36, breaking through the deluge of holiday music on the charts. The song followed in the footsteps of previous charting tracks, including red-hot hits like “Lock” and “Attach,” along with the Brampton-boosting “410” and the hard-hitting “Drippy.”
