DVBBS and Abi Flynn's Dance Hit ‘Move a Little Closer’ Makes Its Billboard Chart Debut in Canada
Already No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Dance Mix/Show Airplay chart, the song has debuted in the DJ act's home country's Airplay Charts. This week also sees new debuts from Canadian acts Three Days Grace, The Sheepdogs and more.

DVBBS is moving a little closer to the top on the Billboard Canada Airplay charts.
The Toronto DJ duo’s track “Move A Little Closer,” featuring British singer Abi Flynn, arrives at No. 39 on the Billboard Canada CHR/Top 40 Airplay chart, dated Nov. 1.
Released in July, the song is an uplifting, euphoric anthem that emphasizes the pair’s signature sound, merging high-energy beats with an emotionally driven, melodic sensibility that resonates with listeners.
“Don't keep yourself in the dark / Oh, nothin' can come from a lonely heart, oh / We all need someone to love,” Flynn sings on the dance hit.

The track came together when brothers Christopher and Alexandre van den Hoef connected with Flynn months after chatting online. They quickly began working on the track, which has already taken the internet by storm, racking up millions of streams and over 4,000 videos on TikTok.
“The minute I heard Abi Flynn’s voice and then learned about her courageous story of beating cancer, I knew she was beyond special,” they shared with Find Your Sounds.
“We’ve been working on ‘Move A Little Closer’ since early spring, and to have thousands of people across the world calling it their summer anthem is already a huge win for us. Just excited and grateful that this record gets to come out tomorrow and we can all celebrate together.”
Flynn says the public’s reaction to the song has been nothing short of touching. “As someone who has survived cancer, I write dance music to heal,” she said. “The song came from a tender place in my own heart, and has called me into a deeper expression of myself as an artist.”
It’s making waves across the border, too. “Move A Little Closer” has hit No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Dance Mix/Show Airplay chart after 13 weeks.Over on the Mainstream Rock chart, Three Days Grace is debuting a new song.
The Canadian rock band arrives at No. 23 with “Kill Me Fast.” The emotionally-charged rock moment is the latest single off the group’s latest LP, Alienation, released Aug. 22 via Sony Music Canada.

Adam Gontier shared that the song is one of his favourites that the band has ever written.
“It’s about ripping the band-aid off. It’s a plea to someone who’s already halfway out the door, to just let you go,” he explained on the band’s website. “Don’t keep me hanging on while you figure your life out. It’s about the slow torture of not knowing where you stand. That moment when silence hurts more than the truth, and you’re begging for the cut just to stop the bleeding.”
“Kill Me Fast” joins the group’s other Mainstream Rock hit, “Apologies,” which dropped from the top spot to No. 2 as Evanescence’s “Afterlife” rises to the top. Three Days Grace are having a big year following their reunion with singer Adam Gontier, including another No. 1 Mainstream Rock hit, "Mayday." Their 2003 hit "I Hate Everything About You" also joined Spotify's Billions Club this year, with more than one billion streams on the platform.
Alex Porat’s “Face Like Yours” — already a hit on CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC — arrives on All-Format at No. 50, and Jamie Fine earns a spot on AC, with “Homesick,” after its debut on CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC in the weeks prior.

Tate McRae’s seething “Tit For Tat” arrives on CHR/Top 40 at No. 32, while Jade Le Mac’s “Running Home” comes in at No. 38, four weeks after its debut on Hot AC, which rises where it is also at No. 38.
Country band The Prairie States makes an appearance on Country with “Feels Like Forever” at No. 55, and The Sheepdogs join Mainstream Rock at No. 25 with “Nobody But You.”

After months at No. 1 on the All-Format and Hot AC charts, Alex Warren’s chart juggernaut “Ordinary” has been dethroned by pop megastar Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia.” Warren’s emotional ballad still reigns on AC, though, while Justin Bieber’s “Daisies” sits at No. 1 for the sixth week on CHR/Top 40 — although Swift’s showgirling track rises to No. 2 and No. 3 on those respective charts.
Over on Country, Morgan Wallen to No. 1 with “I Got Better,” while Fionn’s “Blow” maintains the No. 1 spot on Modern Rock, a major feat for the Vancouver duo who have spent 32 weeks on the chart.
