Give Back Program - Participation Terms & Conditions
The NXNE Music Festival & Conference 2026 Venue Give Back Program (the “Program”) is administered by Billboard Canada (“Administrator”), and the performance reward (incentive) is sponsored by Interac Corp. (the “Sponsor”). All inquiries regarding the Program should be directed to the Administrator connect@ca.billboard.com.
1. Program mechanics
The Program is open to only participating NXNE venue(s) during the festival June 10th to June 14th, 2026.
About North by Northeast (NXNE), for more than 30 years, NXNE has been the heartbeat of new music in Canada, a cultural institution that unites artists, fans, and industry leaders while shaping what comes next. More than a festival, NXNE is a platform for discovery, a launchpad for emerging talent, and a global meeting ground for the most influential voices in music and culture. Generations of artists, from The Beaches to Post Malone, The Arkells, Lizzo, Daniel Caesar and Kaytranada, first stepped onto the NXNE stage before defining their eras.
NXNE has been Canada’s leading festival of music discovery since 1995. Canadian and international stars from Billy Talent, Haviah Mighty, and Sam Roberts to Lizzo and The Lumineers all performed critical NXNE showcases early in their careers.
2. Program Period
The Program begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on June 10th and ends at 12:00 p.m. ET on June 15th, 2026 (the “Program Period”).
3. How to Participate
Participation is voluntary (opt‑in) and requires completing a participation form. Information required from venues:
- Venue name and address
- Primary contact name
- Phone number and email
- A report showing the total number of Interac Debit transactions during the festival period (e.g., a POS or reconciliation report).
Participants are responsible for ensuring forms are submitted before the end of the Program Period by 12:00 PM ET on June 15, 2026 at ca.billboard.com/Interac. Late or incomplete submissions may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Administrator.
Each completed submission, including the required report, will be counted as one (1) submission and included in the calculation of the venue’s total number of Interac Debit transactions.
4. Privacy
All submitted data must be fully anonymized and must not include any identifiable information.
5. Program Reward
The participating NXNE venue with the highest Interac Debit transaction volume during the Program Period will receive a $10,000 CAD in media value for a marketing package provided by Billboard Canada (the “Reward”).
Reward Details:
- Custom digital media amplification package
- Editorial and branded content developed by Billboard Canada’s editorial team
- Distribution across Billboard Canada’s owned digital platforms, including ca.billboard.com
The Reward is non-transferable and has no cash value outside of the stated media placement.
6. Venue Selection
Venue selection will be determined based on the number of Interac Debit transactions (not transaction value). At the end of the Program Period, the total number of Interac Debit transactions for each completed participation form submitted will be verified on or around June 15, 2026 and the selected venue will be contacted using the information provided.
* The potential venue must complete and return a declaration and release form confirming compliance with these Participaton Terms & Conditions and releasing the Administrator and the Sponsor from liability in connection with participating in the Program and receipt of the Program reward.
If a selected venue cannot be contacted, does not respond within five (5) business days of the initial contact attempt, fails to return the required documentation within the timeframe specified by the Administrator, or is otherwise found to be ineligible or non-compliant with these Terms & Conditions, the selected venue may be disqualified and an alternate venue may be selected based on the next highest number of eligible Interac Debit transactions. The official venue announcement will take place on or around June 15, 2026.
7. Tie Breaker
In the event of a tie, the eligible entrant with the earliest valid submission timestamp, as recorded by the Program administrator’s systems, will be deemed the selected participant. This tie-breaker criterion is based on the order in which eligible submissions are received and is not determined by random chance.
8. General Conditions
By participating in the Program, participants agree to be bound by these Participant Terms & Conditions and all decisions of the Administrator, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Program. The Administrator reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any participant found to be tampering with the Program process or violating the Program Terms & Conditions.
The Administrator reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, revoke, or amend this Program or any aspect of it, including the Program Terms & Conditions, at any time and without prior notice, should any factor interfere with its proper conduct or integrity. The Administrator and the Sponsor assume no responsibility for lost, delayed, incomplete, incompatible or misdirected submissions.
Interac Corp. (the “Sponsor”) will participate in this Program in good faith; however, it will not be liable for any loss, damage, or claims arising from participation in the Program or from the use of the marketing package provided by Billboard Canada.
The marketing package is provided “as is,” without any guarantees of performance. Each participant agrees to be responsible for its own activities and to hold harmless the Sponsor and its affiliates from any related third-party claims.
By participating in the Program, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its affiliates, as well as their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents, from any and all claims arising in connection with the Program.
