McMillan joins the label as senior director of marketing to drive digital strategy, campaigns and artist development, while Bansie takes on the role of director of sync and visual media licensing, handling placement opportunities across film, television, video games and advertising.
Warner Music Canada has made two key hires.
The label has added two new faces to its team, appointing Dirk McMillan as its new senior director of marketing and Danica Bansie as the director of sync and visual media licensing.
"We are building a results-first culture at Warner Music Canada," says co-GM Madeleine Napoleone. "Adding forward-thinking talent to the team directly supports our goals of delivering world-class results for our artists in Canada and breaking Canadian artists globally."
Both hires are established executives who aim to drive Warner's artists and campaigns forward through long-term growth.
McMillan previously served as the senior manager of fan acquisition and engagement at Sony Music Canada, and also worked with Universal Music Canada, EMI Music Canada and the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA). His new role at Warner will extend his work in digital strategy and artist development, working with artists locally and internationally.
Danica Bansie joins Warner to help artists achieve synchs and placements across television, film, video games and advertising, as well as overseeing all visual media licensing. She transitions into the company from Pirate Sound, the prestigious Toronto sound shop known for crafting immersive audio experiences and audio for commercials and campaigns. Since joining Pirate Sound in 2024, she oversaw and managed sync placements for national advertising campaigns for nearly two years.
The hires continue a new phase for the Canadian major label following a global restructuring late last year.
Last fall, Eric Wong succeeded Kristen Burke and stepped into his current role as the company's president, and was later also named executive vice-president of recorded music at Warner Music Group, while Julia Hummel and Madeleine Napoleone were appointed as the new co-general managers within Canada.
In June, Warner Music Canada also onboarded George Kalivas as its new director of global A&R and Jordan Kendal as director of physical sales.
Wong, Napoleone and Hummel all landed on the Billboard Canada Power Players 2026 list.
