Rush Filming Sold-Out Toronto Shows for a Potential Concert Film

The legendary Canadian band is set to play four sold-out nights at Scotiabank Arena this week on Aug. 7, 9, 11 and 13 as part of its milestone 50th anniversary reunion tour, and will film the four homecoming shows in their entirety.

Rush are making a blockbuster return home. The legendary Canadian rock band kicks off the first of four sold-out nights at Scotiabank Arena in their hometown of Toronto tonight (Aug. 7), and lead singer Geddy Lee has revealed on Instagram that the shows are going to be filmed live for a possible concert movie, with the goal of bringing the Rush experience to the big screen across the world.

"It’s always a hard decision as to where to film a live concert," he wrote. "Given the limited cities we are able to play, the demand for such a film has been off the charts, not only as a keepsake of their experience, but for those many fans that have not been able to see it live. Toronto being hometown made it a natural choice, and being the last mini-residency of 4 shows, playing over 40 songs which gives us the best chance to capture it all."
